hi, as most would already know we have a pin hole in our head on new engine i have fixed it but was put onto this stuff called seal tabs? used to be in tablet form ,but now comes like fine sand what i was woundering was before i put this stuff in will it be problematic with ally radiator i guess not as all new cars proberly have ally radiators?.the reason i am looking to put this stuff in is i have now put collant in and are unsure if it will eat the loctite i doubt it it but was just going to throw this stuff in anyway.

Thanks Hayden

Hayden: GO for it mate!

I used 2 tabs in the monaro ( the sachets of sandy stuff) and it fixed my problem with no side effects whatsoever!

I'm actually in discussions with the wholesaler to become a distributor of their products i like them so much!!

From all our tests, it's compatible with all coolants and stays active for around 2 years so you should have no worries!

Cheers mate
Tiny.

Hi Tiny,
yeh the sandy stuff, you say active ? does that mean it will still seal a leak even after awhile of being used?.

Yes mate!

It will sit in your cooling system active for 2 years i'm told and be ready to seal up any leaks that may occur in that time.

However it's been proven not to clog small holes/galleries or damage water pumps and bearings!

I've had it in the monaro for a *least* 6 months now with no bad effects, and i know of a ouple of cars that my engine builder has built that get heavy use ( burnout engines) that use them too!

Cheers!

GML-31: From what i've read in the literature yes they are.
Depending on the size of the leak I guess will depend on how permanent the fix is. If it's very small i'd say the seal tabs will fix it and hang in there for quite a while, but if it's a serious gasket problem then they're not a miracle unfortunately.

As i mentioned with the Monaro, We could not find the source of the leak and i belive it has something to do with my head gaskets and i believe the water was going into a chamber but such a small ammount so as not to cause a problem. THe seal tab fixed it, and has stood up to 12 months of driving/racing in the monaro.

I'm definitely interested in any and all feedback as these are a new product ( to me - they;ve been around for years in america!) and I really like them and the other products.

Thanks Hayden, Keep in touch and let me know mate!

Cheers!

I have a radiator sealer it is a black block it looks like a block of h--hs it is the best. You can not mix it with any coolant or it will go to jelly i sell for $10.00 a block.

Hi Daryl,

Sounds like an interesting product mate!

The benefit of our Seal tabs are that they are compatible with all known coolants, So there is no need to dump and flush the cooling system like with traditional sealants.
We tried another product in my Monaro with no effect and i believe it was due to residual coolant in the system not allowing the sealer to work.

All the best with it!

Cheers

No Worries Mumbo!

PM me if you need any of their products, I can organise them and send them to you.

We are in discussion to take the NSW distributorship for their products, and I would also like to help WA people to get these products in the long run too!

Cheers!

Is it similar to Chemiweld sorta stuff?

I blew the head gasket in my old 626 and put 2 bottles in (poor apprentice syndrome) and drove it for a couple years, never had a problem.

Tiny who makes this stuff? I would be interested in it getting some.

I have used products like this before, but they all require the cooling system to be flushed and full of plain water only, as coolant is quite oily and doesn't allow the products to seal properly.

Whenever I build an engine I always run plain water and tabs for the first few hundred k's to make sure everything seals up, so being able to run the coolant as well would be great!

Terrible: Yep mate! These are a similar idea to Chemi weld but these have many benefits over Chemiweld and even the other stuff in teh clear bottle - Seal up.
Mostly for me it was the fact that it doesnt clog small holes like radiator cores or in teh case of my 400 chev, the Steam Vent holes to the heads! - I stuck 2 Seal tabs in the radiator ( to be sure to be sure...) and it worked a treat - my cooling system now holds pressure!

Waz: Theyre an American Product made in the USA and we're the NSW distributor for it. THe major benefit as you mentioned is teh fact it's good to use with all known coolants - and thus you dont have to frig around with plain water or other potentially problematic chemical sealants.

A few older mechanics told me that Holden used to sell a similar tablet with EVERY water pump they sold! You got the pump, Gasket and two seal tabs!! If it's good enough for holden.. it's good enough for me!

But the bottom line is - I had a problem with the 400 Chev in the Monaro, and we could not pinpoint or fix it with "seal up" we used - and so i tracked down the Seal Tabs. After talking with the agent in Australia, I decided to try and become the NSW distributor because i love the products so much!

Keep on the lookout, I'm hoping to have these out there for everyone to see soon!

If anyone wants to try them, please PM me and i can send you details of your local supplier.

Cheers
Tiny.

Yeah I used to work for holden and back in the VR VS days we used to put 2 very large tablets into the system whenever you change the coolant. They only just fit through the neck of the radiator. You can still buy them.

I Belive they are if not exactly the same thing... then virtually the same thing!
Do they work with coolant?

Thanks Waz!

Can't remember what they are worth, not expensive though. They do work with coolant and where also supposed to lubricate the water pump seal to prevent failure.
