Gday Guys,

I have a stray wire which appears to have no home(although im certain it lives somewhere)

I have just finished replacing the fuel pump and must have somehow knocked this wire off, and now my car wont start. The pump is working fine and I have fuel pumping up to the webbers with no probs. Plugs and leads are very nearly new so im thinking that this wire is an important one! Im electrically illiterate so im hoping one of you experts might be able to shed some light on it for me. I have looked and looked and im buggered if I can find an unused terminal within reach of this wire.

Here are some pics, I would really appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction with this.

Cheers

Heezo

Have any other wires fallen off that you have refitted?

Put a test light in the end of your stray wire.
Does the test light go on if you turn key to the ign. position?

One photo didn't show, fixed it up for ya!
Where is the oil sender on the 202's? Is it near the oil pump?
Other suggestion is that it could be the resticted power source for the coil before the electronic dizzy was fitted so no longer required? The little bit of pink wire makes me think that.
Doesn't explain why it wont start tho??? Do you have 12V @ the + side of the coil with the ignition in the "on" position?

I'm kinda thinking the one on the coil (non insulated terminal) might be the oil sender wire?

And the stray (pinkish insulated terminal) might be the coil wire?

Thanks Dellas!! You are a legend, and I feel damn stupid....

Just changed the wires over, but a bit late to crank her over and start it unfortunately. Got a sleeping 6 month old here that wouldnt appreciate the bark that this engine produces not to mention the bark his mother would produce if I did start it!!

Have got the webbers on and the worked 6 in the car now, very happy with the performance and the note is just unbelievable.

Thanks for the help guys, I know what im doing after work tomorrow now.

Cheers
