Gear up for Friday night overdrive at the Australian GP
Looking for a new way to kick-start your Grand Prix weekend, then head to Albert Park on Friday 27 March for Friday Night Overdrive.
Melbournians are invited to have their end of working week celebrations at Albert Park when the Grand Prix combines live music, entertainment and a great social scene with Formula One and V8 Supercar action.
Leave the office early and be trackside by 4pm to see F1 practice and V8 Supercars racing into the twilight.
In between the racing enjoy DJs, bands and a great social scene.
Whats more in a Friday first, a special ticket is available after 4pm for only $30.

I've got tickets and accom and stuff, even got a business meeting in the corporate facilities sorted for the weekend.
Just trying to sort timings and logistics out for a very busy month.

Unfortunately, most (all?) had mufflers on at the Tasman Revival back in November. Shame, as I remember the sound of them even at Oran Park in the early/mid '70's. Nothing quite like it.

But...as my brother pointed out..the F1s run without mufflers...and my mail is the F5000s will be too...thats hard on stuff! You cant run a car a Sandown without a muffler...or Eastern Creek anymore I think.
R
That rings a bell about Eastern Creek actually. The sound of the things without mufflers is unforgettable.

By the way, my avatar is the Elfin MR9, Garrie Cooper's ground effects F5000. It sits in the Elfin Museum at Melbourne, though I think Mrs Cooper still owns it. To see that car on the track again would be worth entry to the GP alone, though I'm not sure it will be out there.
Thats Bill Hemmings Museum...he bought a shit load of cars and opened it. He currently mainly uses the MR8..McCormack/Schuppen car. Its sex on wheels too!
