$600 Vp Commodore that I flog the f#*k out of and apart from a couple of minor issues is still goin hard. Best buy ever.
LOL mine cost me 1k and a bity under $1700 by the time I got it rego'd here and replaced front struts and a few other bits and pieces. Struggler did the work.

As a daily they're not a bad car and you can get them cheap.
I've replaced the timing cover, crank angle sensor and the regulator on the back of the alternator. Apart from that it's been good.

No comprehensive insurance either, only 3rd party property (just was't worth the cost for the last 3 years as it had devalued that much but the insurance costs didn't drop accordingly, it's the chance you take). Filthy scumb bag fembits, Karma will get them. Never stole anything off it either.

My daily driver is a VY Berlina but it's used by my wife most days which means I get around in my trusty old SS when I really need to go somewhere!
I have just brought home my late fathers HZ Kingswood Station Wagon. Dad had the car from almost new and it is optioned with real rare stuff, i.e VB Commodore cloth inserts in the seats, factory tinted glass, Statesman wiper dwell, air and pwr steering and 4-wheel disks, 4.2 and electric tailgate window.
The car has all it's books and even it's original production broadcast which I can scan and upload it if anyone wants to look at it?
Dad purchased the car with 11k on the clock when he worked for GMH at Woodville.
Once she gets a spruce up after sitting in a garage uncovered since 1997 I plan to use her as my daily and may even give it a fresh coat of it's Dark Carmine metalic.
"Cheers"
Alf

Sorry to hear about your loss Hatchy, pitty those bastards didn't burn themselves alive whilst doing what they did to your car!

I got a tad emotional today as I lifted the rear spare compartment and saw how dad had kept spare belts, heater and radiator hoses and so on. He had even purchased a new L/H front indicator assembly in 95 which is sitting in it's box as he had hit something and f*cked the old one up!
I am looking forwards to putting the old girl on hysterical rego in May when she turns 30, hopefully I will have done enough to at least make her look presentable again?
