SUMMARY
besides the banter and frequent abuse, a common pattern appears in this and simular type threads.
1. if you have an L34 you love them
2. if you had an L34 you want it back
3. if you have another type of torana you would trade it for an L34
4. and if you are not one of the above three - there is something wrong with you.

Hi,all the above points are all valid. This debate started by uninformed people putting down the supeior power of the L34.I have just spent the last 2 hrs showing my cars to a guy who is flying interstate tommorrow to look at buying a l34 and a9x.His dad owned several gmh dealerships around australia. It is good to see you L34 boys blowing your own trumpet for a change. I believe part of the reason the A9X has a higher market value is they have been well organised and effective in communicating their story. Maybe start your own club? The challenge for you guys is to present as much info on the cars as you can to the general public and group together to promote a common interest. There is clearly difficulties in the number of cars produced and the demographics of owners but a lot could be achieved through the web these days. Perhaps the Phillip Island get together was a step in the right direction?

I am yet to give an opinion here as I am "un-informed", mind if I come and do the above so I can make my own mind up ?I have just spent the last 2 hrs showing my cars to a guy who is flying interstate tommorrow to look at buying a l34 and a9x. Performance wise he states they were not in the same league. he did not get his info from books but from the response he got from the pedal.

Hey blue taxi if ever in sa i would like to bech race you over an ale or two also.Keep that foot down you will need too if you want to get anywhere unless you let the moths out and buy a muscle car.Im about to sigh of on this thred. If there is anyone out there thats in the market for a a9x i strongly recoment REDA9X to view the car b4 perchace. His knowledge on the a9x is as good as you will get anywhere. You have to own a l34 to fully understand how complex the car is. The two cars a different as the comments have told us. This has been a great debate we have all had some fun dont take life to serious RED lets injoy the cars and the people asociated with them. becuase we are only the care tackers someone else will own our cars one day. injoy life.
cheers blue_a9x

I don't have an SLR, A9X or a L34 and I wouldn't trade mine for one, I couldn't care less about their heritage or $value. I built my car to go, doesn't handle the best or look the best and it used to be a 4 cylinder, but it is what I want - not a dust collector. Give it up people because at the end of the day none of them go or handle any good standard, a shitty old VN SS would out drive one on the race track! They are all just a Torana with the smallest of modifications that aren't really worth talking about! Too harsh? Thats my opinion!
And yes I still love them.
