I'm Cam, I own Imperial Blasting (49 876 351), you can find us at 2/56 Heather St, Heatherbrae. We service both panel shops, private restorers and automotive hobbyists from Newcastle, Sydney, Blue Mountains, to Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Forster, out to Muswellbrook and beyond. We also offer a pick up and delivery service between Taree and Sydney as well as utilising couriers for panels and smaller items if you don't have the time to travel to us.
Were an Automotive blast specialist, there is no better place to go for your restoration preparation as we offer both Soda blasting and fine abrasive blasting. We DO NOT use any coarse or heavy abrasives that cause warping or deep pitting. Our soda blast finish will leave your car the same finish as paint stripping, smooth and unpitted and guaranteed not to warp (It's impossible for soda to warp any steel car panels and is safe on aluminium, fibreglass, carbon fibre and other delicate materials that can not be safely blasted with abrasives). Our fine abrasive finish will give you a smooth rust free finish comparable to rubbing your hands over 800 - 1000 grit wet and dry sand paper (easily filled with the lightest coat of primer, this is the smoothest possible finish whilst still removing rust. We can blast you car with plastic blast media if required however the finish is the same as soda (give us a call for more details).
You cannot rely on 1 single form of blasting in order to achieve the best start for your restoration. No 1 blast media can safely do everything, therefore we utilise multiple blast medias to ensure you get the best start on your restoration
Our secure enclosed workshop is setup entirely for automotive work only, inc in-house rotisserie (inc bracket fabrication), well lite spray booth sized blast chamber for a thorough blast job, body carts, panel stands and a full range of tools for removing and storing parts and panels during the blasting process.
Our focus is on motoring enthusiasts (like ourselves), your pride and joy is safe with us. We are NOT Industrial blasters trying to smash your car out the door in 1 day just to get paid quickly. We take our time with your car to ensure the best possible finish. We are proud of the finish we leave on clients cars and therefore choose to use a special clear coating to protect your vehicle and panels after blasting. This coating is safe to paint over with all known paint types, so unlike the black/grey/red industrial etch primers used by most places; our coating does not need to be washed off with thinners before painting over. Best of all you can see your car in the bare metal and work on it without anything being hidden. Many blasters use coloured primers after blasting your car which allows them to be lazy and just cover up anything they missed. IF we have missed anything on your car, the clear coating will allow you to see it and address it before painting over, so no nasty surprised down the track. Our clear coating will protect your car for several years if stored in a dry indoor location, as with all conventional etch primers it is porus. We can also coat your car with any brand of primer you desire, including 2 pak epoxy.
Myself and my staff have many years experience in the automotive industry, from auto parts dismantling to restoration work including panel, paint and mechanical trade qualifications and/or experience along with an active involvement in the automotive show scene. Many of you may have already meet us at local Newcastle / Central coast car shows and events, we love to get out and speak to our clients and get there feedback on what they want.
We welcome any panel shop owners or staff to come and see us and we can show you the finishes we offer and show you how we as an Automotive blast specialist differ from Industrial blasters who blast cars in-between heavy mining and engineering jobs, often using the same gung ho blasting technics.
We have a vehicle strip down service for inexperienced car owners who would prefer to have a professional pull their car apart and bag and tag each item as it's removed. Once your car has been blasted, repaired and painted you will have labelled boxes and bags of parts ready to re-assemble the car, no more loosing every 2nd bolt and bracket when the mates come over and pull the car apart while knocking back a few cartoons of beer. Let us do the hard work while you can concentrate on the BBQ and relaxing.
We are also the preferred blaster for some of Australia's top custom car builders, so don't risk your pride and joy for the sake of saving a few dollars. We know how important your car is and treat it like it's one of our own. All cars and parts are kept inside our secure workshop at all times.
