Back in the late 90's around 1996 there was always a plumdinger LC GTR parked in the carpark at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, It seemed genuine as back then even GTR's were turned into XU1 replicas.

There was a Plumdinger GTR at a workshop at Katoomba 18 months ago , I think it lives in the central coast , but I didn't check to see if it was real !

PETE, what colour trim did this car have, if you took notice that is???, my car has come with log books and the original motor came as a spare, the motor in the car is a well worked 202 black trim looks untouched, the only other gtr i seen in this colour had sandelwood trim, and that was in brisbane also, has said before, i remember seeing a oldskool shed web site that had a plumdinger gtr but couldnt tell how real it was, by the way the sandelwood one was a cf prefix 173, and mine is a 6 month and just missed out.

anyway could this car be the rarest of them all.

cheers john.

Hi John, it was a long time ago but i would have to think it was black, I used to always see it parked in the same spot at the hospital and assumed it was a staff member's car.

I was only a patient at the time but as I was building my LC 4door at the time I was always looking at it in admiration as plumdinger is my favorite LC colour.

Rare or not an LC GTR is still the prettiest torana in my mind.

HERE LUKE,,,
meanmachine, yeh he wants 100k plus for the 2 cks, and between the two cars you get one full set of tags, the red one is missing the adr tag, the other is missing paint and vin, he has alot of money in parts if you where to wreck them both, but 100k no thanks,,, 60k not a problem load them on the boat,, he says that thay would both fit in a 20foot contaner, yeh right on top of each other.

John,

If the rally red CK was missing its ADR tag then that was common with export cars.

Have you ckecked the seller code on the vin disc ?

Understand completely John.

At the end of the day the ADR ( Australian Design Regulation ) tag was ment for australian cars, seems very strange that Holden atached some
ADR's to some export cars and not others buy hey it isn't the first strange thing holden have done.

There was also another Plumbdinger John that a young bloke by the name of Marty who was in the QLD XU1 club a few years back. From memory he bought he car from Sydney and bought it as a GTR. He didn't hang onto it very long and believe he sold it in the Just cars magazine. Jamie would remeber the car.
