They are some really nice looking repairs :)

Hope you're not letting dad have all the fun! :spoton:

When do you think the car will be ready for colour?

If you can do all that stuff in-house surely squirting some top coat over the body shouldn't be too hard! But whatever you reckon :P

Nah only the five litre sedans came with the front and rear spoilers, but that doesn't mean you can't put either on if you want :P

Save up some cash for the SUs and keep your eyes open, generally they are expensive but if you have the cash and you watch the market for a while, you can probably find some without spending a fortune. I think a set of triples would set the car off :)

I am really pleased to see this car being restored. I remember seeing pictures of it sitting in a paddock some years ago.

I agree Heath, all the hard work is in the prep. Throwing the paint on and shining it up is the easy bit.

Your project is coming along nicely mate !! Hopefully by the time my boy is old enough appreciate Torana's I will have the skills your dad has to pass on.

Well today we started striping the engine bay etc, and while we were at it couldn't help myself, ripped the head of the
motor to have a look see, If it had been done and what it was up to. To my surprise it is 92mm, with hardly any lip at all,
it still had the HOLDEN head gasket on it, so i guess no one has ever had it off before,
Posted Image
there are a few light scored in the bores, so what to do?
Posted Image
do i just wack it back on or rip it out and give it the once over?
(Full reco)?
The head looks to be in great condition aswell. clean oil, no sludge, or burnt oil anywhere to be found. the speedo says 93K,
I'm wondering if thats all it had done before it was parked in the barn?

I was going to give it the full treatment but now i am unsure. What do you blokes rekon??

I'm leaning towards a factory restoration. Everything stock standard. Even the carbs( Not that Al will like that). I guess if it's
done right it will be a nice little nest egg for him when he gets older.
