I'm not racing on the day but i would say its a bad idea. After spending that amount of money to race for the day the last thing i would want to do is sit out for afew hours.

I have noted to Tiny that when the V8 Owners had track days, the DYO cars ran then the heads ups cars ran. Just like Wed nights; V8 's run ,then the 4 cyl's run.
When eliminated from DYO you just joined the heads up queue.
Nobody had to cool their heels while the DYO comp was run.

Snapt: No worries mate! Are all your tickets ( the 5 "spectator" passes PER driver) in your group of guys already taken up? You could use some of those tickets to get the kids in, otherwise i'm *SURE* there will be a few left from someone else who wont need them!
Thank you for the payment!

Regarding the DYO Bracket, I'll speak with John Henman about how it can run on the actual day and ask him about what Vetteoz has said and see if people would need to have the downtime.

IF we can do it without stopping proceedings much then we'll do it.. if it's going to hold up the "racing" for a couple of hours i probably wont do it.

Cheers!

Tiny how long would it really take?
Im only guessing but
first round of DYO consisting of 44 cars = 22 races guesstimating 90 seconds a race = 33mins,
round 2 = 22 cars= 11 races or 17 mins,
round 3 = 11 cars = 6 races or 9 mins,
round 4 = 6 cars or 3 races or 5 mins,
round 5 = 3 cars or 2 races= 15 mins. (10 min turn around)
or roughly 70 mins not allowing for oil downs etc but they have to be dealt with in the grudge racing also.
if the bracket racing was run in two heats say rounds 1-3 then a 1 hour break then rounds 4-5 no one would be out of action for any length of time.I prepare to be corrected as I havent bracket raced in a long time. Jeff

Yep Your right Jeff...

"Couple of hours" would be the entirety of it! But i dont want to alienate those who dont want to do it.

Sort of trying to be fair to all! ( I'd LOVE to do it... and as was mentioned above, a guy in a standard commodore is more likely to win the bracket than a tough drag car due to the consistancy! - Simmo took the DYO girls Bracket at the VIC Drag day we had a couple years ago in our Falcon because of it's consistancy!!)

Yes sorry tiny all 45 tickets from all the cars that have been enterred have been swallowed up ...big family, we are 4 short for the kids i think we took as a usual drag night where kids under 12 dont need tickets, my mistake.

From my experience on these type of days... Most people just prefer grudge racing. After your first few runs, your addicted and all you want to do is get out there and better your times. If there are lots of first time racers, they got no idea what time to dial in and it's a bit confusing and you feel like you waste a couple of runs.

You need a couple of publicised grudge matches! Like Highnoon and Heathcote and Handbags at Heathcote! That was heaps of fun! Nothing like some friendly rivalry as well...

Let the trash talking begin i say! I wanna see a few polls up and get some people voting on who's car will win!

To all Racers - To help us in the search for these additional spectator tickets, Can you let me know if you will have any spare tickets please! So we can "Pre Allocate" them to members (and their families) who are coming along like SNAPT's and a few other members who want to come watch!!

Cheers everyone! :)

So Rob, Could we give your ONE to Keith? ( That would cross him off the "Needy" List!)

Mitch - You guys each get your crew and specator passes too - and you still need more?
