I've recieved a very detailed reply from John Henman regarding the BIG list of questions i've sent him over the past few weeks.
I'll post them here so that hopefully it sorts everyone's questions out! (I know i sure had a few questions!!)
Here you go:
Hi Tiny,
First, let me backtrack to answer a few of your previous questions:
1. A gas barbecue, kept well away from the cars, will be fine.
2. Please be sure to specify the names of any approved photographers in your entry list. A photo shoot during the lunch break will be okay.
3. No problems regarding the historic touring car/s. We will accept the drivers CAMS licences. We dont expect the car/s to run under 12-seconds. If they do we will allow it just for this day.
4. If your wife is going to be a Second Driver in what is now a Super Street car, she will need her own ANDRA Super Street Licence.
Now, to your latest questions Ill make the answers as simple as possible.
First, I will need your entry list of competitors (Thursday, July 2 at the latest).
This list needs to specify the full names of all primary drivers and second drivers.
Second drivers need to be listed next to the primary drivers with whom they are sharing.
ANDRA Licence numbers, where they exist, should be included.
The list must also include the names of any photographers you have approved to attend.
When I receive your entry list, we print the tickets.
For every primary driver we issue 2 crew and 3 spectator tickets in addition to his driver ticket.
You collect all the tickets from us before the event probably on Friday, July 3.
Everyone enters via our main Spectator Gate (Gate 16).
Everyone turns right at the roundabout on the spectator entry road and gathers in the first car park area (on the right hand side as you drive in through the spectator entrance).
Tickets are distributed by the organiser to all entrants at that point. How you choose to do this is up to you Tiny.
They then distribute them to their crew and spectators.
In some cases, some entrants do not want crew or spectator tickets. These extras can then be handed out to other drivers crew and spectators as may be required.
Everyone must have a ticket (i.e. driver, second driver, crew or spectator ticket) to enter the venue.
Children must have a ticket to enter.
Entrants then drive down Castlereagh Boulevard to the ticket booth. At this point their ticket is torn and they proceed along that road and turn into the pit area (like we do with spectators on a Wednesday night street meet).
The security guard will have a copy of your entry list and will tick names off the list as they enter.
We usually run a full tree all day with these events. But we can accommodate a change from Pro to full if you wish. Just let me know.
Sincerely,
John Henman
Operations Manager
Western Sydney Dragway
I dont think there is a need to ask about support cars, because I did ask about spectator's cars, and i was told that ALL people attending the day will be able to park in the pitt area. This means that any spectators cars automagically become support vehicles so i dont think there is a problem with needing car passes like at normal events! - It also means that anyone who wants to bring their nice torry can feel safe in knowing they can park with the rest of us on the day!
And with the reply, It looks like we will *ALL* have to be there at 08:00 on the day for me to hand out your tickets, and spectator's tickets! I think it will be a problem for people to wander in throughout the day, especially for me if i have to give them tickets because I'll be racing!!

It would be a pretty cool thing to be able to offer BBQ facilities for everyone... but I plan on racing not cooking (for a change! I always end up behind the grill!)
If it was possible to have the BBQ there, I'm sure we could be pursuaded to supply our own snags on the day!
Thanks for the offer!

Tiny i know we have covered most of the stuff but do you think there may be a point in the day where it may allow the gates open for people that cant make it at 8am? You know maybe a one of 10am security gaurd run? If not i may have 2 tickets available for the unused pile.

Mitch - We definitely cannot buy any spectator tickets on teh day, Sorry mate! As it's not a "Public" event as such, the tickets are all pre-printed and pre-paid before the day runs. This obviously helps WSID get around cash handing issues on the day!
SS Hatchback: - Rob, I'm sure it wont be a problem to do that mate, What i dont want is people rocking up in dribs and drabs because the bottom line is I will be the one who has to administer the tickets/spectators and it's going to be very difficult to do! Let alone the fact that i'll be racing too!
I might have to have a bit mroe of a think about your idea of opening up the gates at say 10:00 and then again at lunch or something like that?
Cheers everyone!

I;ve got 9 FOR and 5 AGAINST in the Poll up there... that's not really conclusive!
It means that those who get knocked out may have to wait a couple of hours in the afternoon which is NOT ideal.... So i think we might not bother with it!
let's just be careful how we line up so we can get some good grudge matches organised!!!
Does anyone have any contacts with a good trophy shop?

I think for the benifit of all we just grudge race with whoever or whenever we line up.This is a social, not a comp.
But the benefit of DYO is it lets you race against the big boys and beat them if you are any good. Eliminates the cheque book factor.
