i used a vp v8 booster and 1" master cyl , took 50mm of the pushrod, washers on mounting studs and took the fittings also off the commodore took only hours to do.

are the 6 and 8's different on the p?

i used these because they came on the donor car i bought . It came with the double diaphram booster and 1" master cylinder.I assume that v8's were double boosters and 1"masters and i dont know if any v6's had this combo .If you look on the top front section of the master cyl it my say 15/16 or 1 and if you get the brake booster part number someone should be able to tell you whether or not it is twin diaphram. Also i think its safe to say that if the vn or vp has smaller brakes with 14" wheels then it probably does NOT have a decent booster/ master combo.maybe someone else can offer some more info.

Does the PBR P10050 master cylinder have a built in proportioning/Bias valve?

If it dose what is the advantage of the Wilwood Bias brake adjuster?

Thanks

Yes the PBR master has the valve inbuilt

An adjustable valve has the benefit of... .well ... adjustability :)

Adjustability

The master cylinder valve may not be enough
The wilwood allows more tuning ability

No such thing as a VS dual booster
VS was plastic single

If its VR or vefore then the 1" Commodore does of course... or XD Falcon... or even WB
Depends whether you want metric or imperial pipe threads

Maybe post a pic of your booster for identification or get the part # off it... its stamped around the front of the cannister on the edge near where it joins the back can
Will either start VH*** or B259-***

Nope
I would have said so if it was :)

VS onwards ran a different configuration
You can adapt the VT booster and master in... but I think its uglier and needs more work for little gain

from what ive seen, the plastic VS will bolt onto the torana as per rorys method. a VT m/cyl can then bolt up to the VS booster.
need to shorten the vs push rod or fit spacer between booster and m/cyl.

i have a vt m/cyl. need to get a vs booster and then i can fill in a few of the blanks.

has anyone else had experience with this setup??

The plastic VS is a single diaphragm and prone to cracking the front cannister
I wouldn't be recommending this one

interesting.

i worked at pbr for 7 years and never heard of them cracking.
but it could be the reason they only went plastic for one model.

C4 vette
EF-EL Fud
VS commode
KC-KE laser

All had a form of plastic booster... when they get older they crack especially with exhaust heat
Probably not a problem on a Red 6 but certainly an issue on everything else

also alot of those (particularly the fords) have doughy pedals from the boosters "flex".

hey datto,
you seem to be clued up on brakes, can you help me? I am about to do the conversion above, but before i do, i believe my vac booster is shaged. before I took it out of the VN SS donor car, when you put your foot on the pedal all you could hear was sucking under the dash( and my wife wasn't in the car!). If the booster is shaged am I better off pulling it apart and fixing the diaphram or getting a new (or reco) booster?? any help appreciated!!

The P10050 suits both drum and disc rear and was used that way on XC and XD Falcons
