well with the head done, the head gasket replaced, new cam, new electric water pump and new 16" thermo fan, we might have beaten the gremlins now, sitting on around 88 degrees after running it up for around 20 - 30 minutes, at idle (1300rpm currently) and so its looking good so far.....

oh and the hinges are still blue.

hasnt been dyno'ed as yet due to the overheating dramas, though expecting around 230 to 250 rwkw though, that would be realistic though

I like how it doesn't have a massive intercooler hanging out of the grill like a certain other RB30 LC i've seen around.

well it does but I just put a thin layer of black paint to hide it from view a bit.

Nah this is more like what i was referring to, its a nice RB30 LJ i just don't like the intercooler stuffed in where the grill should be.

Yeah I am picking up what your putting down now. I wanted it to keep a sort of original style look other than the wheels of course, and keep the conversion more of a surprise packet I guess. That was the main reason behind slotting the intercooler behind the grill and painting it black too.

ended up producing 252.4 rwkw (343rwhp) @18 pound of boost, so pretty happy with that, the ol 9 inch and the 3000 rpm stall and auto suck a bit of power away but still a healthy figure,

Well it's been a while,

New forged stroked bottom end in it now, still only a baby cam though, running 376rwhp currently, I've had the car mini tubbed and running Mickey Thompson 275/50/15 and a set of QA1 double adjustables so it will be interesting to see how it hooks up next time at the strip, it's in currently getting a transbraked glide and some more boost.....

Sounds like a weapon. Any new pics? I really like the RB30 or 25 conversion. Hope to do a LJ 2 door with a RB25det neo sometime in the future.

Gees you would be hard pressed getting the old Holden red to produce numbers like that!
