Heya Guys.

I was wondering what throttle linkage setup do the v8 guys use?

At the moment i use a standard little bracket that you bolt onto the manifold and clip the cable to the carby.
I find the accelerator very hard to push down. I have tried different springs, angles and cables and it is still a bit hard. Maby i think its the carby 650 DP mech sec.

Anyhows the new motor is just about ready to go in and i was wondering what do you guys run and does anybody use one of these here?

To get a lighter pedal just move the spring(s) closer to the centre of the linkage lever. You still need to ensure correct angles to avoid bind and springs that will return the throttle all the way but the weight is mostly just the length of the lever.

It would help if you could post a picture of how you have attached the cable to the carby.

As the cable is moved closer to the centre of the throttle lever the distance the pedal will travels from idle to full throttle reduces. As the distance the pedal travels reduces the pressure required increases.

On my 465 Holley I make a bracket that moved the cable about an inch from the centre of the throttle lever.

The Edelbrock carb did not require a bracket.

cheers for the replies guys!
I will have to try mooving the mount closer to the centre of the Leever.
I ordered that linkage setup for the new motor. I had a look arround at a few engine bay photo's and a few people were using a similar setup so it must be ok.

I wont be missing the hard to push pedal.

You need to move the mount further away from the centre of the lever to increase pedal travel and reduce pedal pressure.

As above you can do the opposite for the spring (as long as it still pulls it all the way shut), same principle
