That was back in the mid 80's in my 202 powered HJ van. Haven't attempted to wind out either of my work vans. Yet...probablySorry Mick, I don't understand the question. What are you reffering to?
I wound out one of my vans to 155 KPH. Then the clutch started slipping. Speedo stayed where it was and the tacho kept going!

Wouldn't do that in the Torana, its amazing how much attention a red SL/R can attract form the cops.

All Fours: About ~10m maybe more, from takeoff to rear wheel landing, was coming down a hill just the bottom I punched it to overtakeon the long uphill directly after the downhill.
Unfortunately the uphill went something like this:
_/
/
Didn't mean to get airborne at all, but ended up clearing the flatter section entirely, came down with an earth shattering bang, showered sparks all over the place that apparently looked like the car became one massive comet/fireball.
Wasn't happy at the time with the whole thing, claim to airborne fame only after everything checked out not broken

Very Stiff suspension leads to far easier attempted space travel over soft suspension.
::Top Speed::
No idea; LH - T350, mild 308, 3.08 ratio diff, 13" rims.
Maybe 230?
So Torana Amore, you were pushing over 200 on a cold engine, or the guage is broken, or someone had the rear's up on blocks?

Assuming the photo is genuine, it does make one wonder..........driving at that speed one hand on the wheel and both eyes on the camera..........
