I find it amusing.....
You can tell a man his wife is fat or his dog is ugly....
But don't you dare tell him he can't drive!!!

^^^ I dont have a wife, and i admit that my dog is ugly.

^^ But obviously not good spelling lol.

But thank you Dave, i agree that you learn more about car control on the dirt than you do on bitty.

Good to see someone on my side. By MY side i mean the general young driving population.

Its a straight, flat road that i had driven many-a-time before, usually above 100km/h, so how i was gunna go flying through the air i dont know.

RIM

Stat that I read: most fatals happen on roads the victim is very familiar with and within 5km of where they live........not really that good a stat......since perhaps you are most likely to be doing 90% of your driving 5km from home....but worth considering.
If you cant come up with a scenario on how a LJ torana driving on a dirt country road at a speed(90mph) it wasnt designed for can lose adhesion then you definitely shouldnt be driving......beats me how all your 15year old friends are driving around too...where is it legal for 15yo to drive?

Faster than the speed of sound!

So fast it managed to return to it's original resting place without disturbing any of the grass growing around (through) it!

It took me about 2 hours to read all of the posts an wow
theres some good little stories there i couldnt stop reading.
First of all you cant compare driveing around 10 years ago to driveing around now all of the older genaration which i think is a greater % on this forum would agree that we got away with murder while driveing around as teenages an we didnt have to do it on the roads there was always a paddock or somewhere that doesnt matter at all to police EXAMPLE 1995 20 km from campbelltown doin dounuts rippin up this paddock like you wouldnt belive when we pulled up to chill out an get even more dizzy highway patrol pulled up long story short all he said in the end was atleast we were out here doing it where we could only kill ourselves not to mention driveing away with them 2 in the front of my hz station an my mate lieing on the bed in the back.
Its just not the same anymore for the youger gen of today and im sure by the posts ive read that there are a quite a few youger gen on this forum and i gauruntee they look up to all you guys that added posts about stupid things an if they tried to do half of the things we used to do theyed have no licence for years to come.I also cant belive the enthusiasim of heath an rim i can tell these two are going to be torana frreaks for life i wish i had this shit when i was 15 keep up the good work guys if you put the same effort into building your first toza im sure it will be one sweet ride.
The reason why i added a post here is thats why i now do speedway an for about a thousand dollars you could be doing aswell and in a torana theres always cars for sale an once you drive on a track your hooked there is also tracks all over nsw an aust this year i will be going to 4 tracks A.C.T,Goulburne,Nowra an bathurst races are done monthly an very rarely on same day so if anyone is interesred just pm me i will answer any questions i can i no off about three toranas ready to race an forsale just imagine going as fast as you possibly can in your toza around on dirt its a total blast.Posted Image

IM SORRY FOR THE LONG POST AN BAD GRAMMA I COULDVE KEPT WRITEING ALL DAY

I live in the country and have been driving since i was 8 years old. Its not legal, but its not like anyone is going to do something about it. all my 15 year old mates have been driving for about as long as i have (all my mates from the country, anyway).

Always has been the case, country guys driving around from about the age 11-12, admittedly mostly around the paddock, not on roads. At the same time, by the time they do get their licenses, their driving skills and car control appear to be far superior (Just my personal observation). I'd me more concerned about driving in the City with gumbies that got their licenses at 18 on smooth roads, and no experience of a car with no traction or hitting obstacles, which you do get by thrashing around a paddock.

Reminds me of the time I went to the Ag College, and they asked a visiting class from Sydney who had been to the bush? There were only two hands raised out of 40 kids. One had been to Hornsby, and the other Penrith!!!!!

^ I suppose that that was directed at me, driving around unsafely on country roads. But you need to be more alert on country roads anyway.

Yella, i have done a fair bit of driving around paddocks, but i prefer actual driving to just doing ringies in paddocks. When i am 18 i will have had 10 years of experience, opposed to ~2 years for the average city kid.

Liam, 160km/h on private property is the same as 160km/h on a public road...

But i know where you are comin from, traffic etc.

Most of my mates (including me) who have been driving for a while a pretty good at controlling a car in a slide, if you know what i mean, and general road handling.

OK without blushing ....
IN the SL/R, 195km. Was unsure about accuracy of speedo so took a "sat-navigating thingy" with us that big time farmers use when ploughing and re-sizing paddocks etc. My speedo was about 6-7kphs shy at 100kph, about 10-12kph shy at 160, machine ended up reading just on 210 when speedo showed 195, when I thought this was enuff for now. My mate couldnt wait to show his father in-law how fast his tractors should be going around the farm whilst working !!

When we go away out of town with work, we use hire cars for the travel purposes,
- Magna -> limited to 215kph
- Mitsibishi 360(or is that 380?) -> limited to 210kph.
All on nice open country roads of course with no-one coming in other direction(does that sound like an apology ?)
