The starter solenoid in dads ht wagon has just had a touch sense immobiliser put in, which would work except the starter solenoid clicks. It only clicks when the immobiliser is wired inline with the original solenoid wire, but if its bypassed then it starts fine. I'm thinking voltage drop is the cause? Could it be something else?
The starter and solenoid should both be fine as they're both newish gear reduction bits.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Chris

Have the immobiliser trigger a relay connected to the starter solenoid?

sounds a bit like voltage drop
can you post or pm the wiring diagram?

antelopeslr5000-It was actually already doing that.
We found out the problem was the immobiliser module itself wasn't getting enough power, which we wired into one of the already-in-use terminals in the fuse box. We ended running a separate wire direct from the battery to it which seems to have solved it, for me at least. So now it'll start really well if I do it, but apparently dad doesn't conduct well enough for it to start for him. Tomorrow we're earthing the ignition barrel properly which should solve it, if not we'll take power from some 8ga wire that's there for the amplifier.
