just arrived on the truck from VIC

couldnt help my self, had to sit the mags under one side to see what i thought of em as i only paid 150 clams for the 4 of em with rubber
here you can see the massive off-set from the back to front
second day home and the old 173 was getting ripped out
i will post more pic's up soon as i have the car stripped right down now ready to start on the rust repairs, mini tubs, also gotta fill in the old fuel filler hole behind the number plate and R/R radiator support as normal the whole bottom is..... well not there lmao like i sid i got a long way to go but it will get done sooner rather than later

got rid of the badges and cleaned up around the holes with the trusty wire wheel on the drill
cleaned up inside if the holes with the milling bit, dont want and rusty shit left in the hole now
ends up looking like this, ready for welding..
started to fill in the 40 million holes that the old owner had made, most of them were screw holes for relays and crap
started on the other side of the engine bay and that when i ran outt'a gas.. not happy, but as you can see i havent even finished stripping the engine bay yet so still got something to do hey..
with no more gas i decided to clean up one of the rear bar supports and paint it, not happy with it so it will be getting redone again, i think today was just not meant to be..
before-
and after-
will have the rest of the day off i think

here are the holes where the A/C hoses went,
and now one big hole,
the donor door for some metal, yes the door was stuffed
new piece cleaned up
stuck it behind the firewall to mark it out for the cut,
tacked a washer on it so i can hole it in the perfect spot and NO burnt finger either
see easy to hold,
stitched in place,
only a little tac on the washed so it just snaps off easy and no damage,
see easy huh
welded and cleaned up no more holes
hit with a couple of coats of Etch and wall'a
heres the other side where the loom, accelerator cable and clutch rod holes where,
and a bit of a front view of the firewall done and all etched
opps forgot this one of the firewall seem that i trimmed, it had the biggest overlap i have ever seen,,
drivers side pillar behind the gaurd, started as a pin hole of rust but after i chased the rust on the inside this is what i ended up with,,,
new piece in
the lower section of the support
cut the sucker out ready o make up a new one
the missing piece
drew up a new piece,
cut it out
and all bent into shape
and here it stitched in but not happy with it at all so im getting a whole donor support from Matt and the little lower section from paul who has feb'ed up many of these thx heaps to you both
more pic's to come

marked out the inner gaurds feadt to be cut and smoothed out left and right side,
both sides cut out,
shaping the new pieces, what fun that was
holes drilled so it could be plug welded to the rail like the rest of the inner,
left one in
right one in
now i just have to hit em with the dolly and file and then start on the support and the battery tray and other side and then i have been given my orders to finish the roof on the house, i have gurni'ed it and re-caped it all just gotta paint in about 2 days work then back into the Torana if anyones see's anything that might need some more attention please let me know, but be sure to let me down gently
