I just cant believe how much the few things Ive done (carpet, engine bay etc) have changed the whole car up.
Earls must be rubbing their hands together lately! way too much money out of my pocket into theirs, and I havent even done the whole lot!

Biggest change to the car since I had it at tfest 2 years ago is the engine bay and the carpet, the boot is just... well awesome! hahaha.

Warn Karlie about the mad old bastard trying to race everyone in his rickety old red LC XU1

See you Sunday.

interior with new carpet, shifter boot and handbrake boot, also new kick panels

engine bay-
new catch can, new catch can braided lines and fittings, new fuel lines, fuel regulator, and econoclamps (cant quite afford braided banjo fittings at the moment)

and the thing I worked on in the lead up the most-

and the woman that lets it happen-

Also had a bit of a play with my new DSLR before we left, just need to sort the photos and then I'll whack some up!
but this is one shot, straight off the camera and untouched-

Only things "left" to do to the car now is to finish the sheetmetal dash facia and whack it in.
let me know what you think of the finished product guys/gals, its been a rough couple months to get it back to a decent stage

A credit to your dedication, skills and car taste.
However like I said yesterday you young blokes need to forget about spending money on the bits that make you go slower (like that heavy stereo!!!)

Im sorry I was busy stuffing my face while you were there though! haha, I had breakfast at 5am so was a little hungry come lunch time!
Thanks for all the compliments guys! its been a massive effort for the last few months, and a bit of money to get things looking decent again.
Ive promised Karlie that Id spend some time in the garden and fixing up some stuff round the house now, so it will stay as-is for a little while.
hopefully more photos tomorrow!

Just between you and me Chris (this is slightly embarrassing) but is your knob around the right way?
(Gear knob that is).
Looks like it needs another 1/2 turn.
Mick.

and mick, I'll have to play with my knob later on! hahaha, Karlie drove it up, so whatever position she had it in to drive was what it stayed in! it never been really "secure" so its very easy to twist it around.
That said, im thinking an upgrade to a tan coloured knob is in order.
I dont think Ive talked about my knob that much for a while!

I think the new carpet has made a massive difference to the interior, this is what it used to look like-

still have a few things to sort out, need to buy a -6 cap to fit over the drain on the catch can, need to sort out the alarm wiring and stuff and get the new dash finished (ordered my last gauge from the states last week)
Really need to put a ryco filter back on it though, Fitted a donaldson one (freebie from work) but they are designed for diesel engines and vertical mounting, so no drainback valve=clacky noises on startup!
Might give it a run up to newcastle in the morning (going to auto one to pick up some rares parts)
and just cause I love this pic
