So finally got the new radiator or friday night (drove out to botany)

Its a 56mm cored alloy unit from JAR,

Leveling it up





Fitted (with bonus head of my old boy)







Bit of a tight fit, but should be more than enough clearance (if it gets hairy, I'll just solid mount the engine)







aaaaaand.... spot the dog-

Also should add that I had it running for 30 minutes yesterday, with the thermo set at its lowest (40 degrees) the engine never went over 50 degrees..... thats pretty bloody good considering it wouldnt stabilise at anything under 110 with the old copper radiator! Will have video next weekend, but its resonably lumpy

Test drving next weekend to make sure all is well, then off to tuners the following week for a couple hours on the dyno

That is awesome and painful to watch at the same time, reminds me so much of my old car, no triples, but nice and lumpy.

It's a compliment. When you're reversing you car in the first video it definitely sounds like an 8. It's only when you give it a little tap on the accelerator or drive forward does it get the sound of an angry 6.

if I had a better way of recording the sound, I'd drag it along to the dyno session to get a truer indication

haha, thanks man.

I reckon it will give brad a run for his money.

After the tune and OTR, his SS is around the 170-180kw (360 odd HP) mark, it weighs near 2 tonne.

The LJ should have between 200-250hp (I'd be happy with 200-220) and weighs like 1200kg

Working it out, his will sit around the 180hp/T mine around 183hp/T lol

All this is obviously hypothetical, as per my rants on facebook, cant really compare the dyno figure from his tuner to the dyno from where I'm tuning the torry.

So we will see! haha.

haha, I went up the street and back that time haha. Its now firmly back in his shed until I get a chance to recheck, loosen and retighten all the bushes and suspension.

His XU-1 is living at my joint at the moment, so he keep geeing me up about "getting his shed back and bringing his car home" haha.

He was smiling as much as I was when I got back down the street! haha

Thanks guys! I just cant wait to get it 100% driveable and flog the nuts off it! haha.

I've noticed in the last 12 months that I've been treating the dailies a little worse on a day to day basis.

I blame it on not having a weekend outlet or "fun car"

Now I just need to decide whether I want to go silver/polished trumpets or stick with red annodized (and get some other bits done to match)
