Should be back from the panel shop this afternoon in hi-fill. Thursday night, pulling the box out
so tunnel can be painted too)
Going to the painters on friday morning, picking it up saturday morning, engine in saturday
Toranafest sunday
giving my uni lectures a miss for the week so I can spend every night working on the torry, the wiring is going to be the biggest bitch.
All the wiring will be 100% hidden. Engine loom (coil, dizzy and MSD wires) will come from pretty much behind the head. headlight looms will come from under the gaurds, up through the drain holes.
Relays and fuse box will go inside the car somewhere (behind kick panel I think)
I still need to sort out a pink slip (thats the easy part) and pay my rego too, so Im definitely cutting it fine.
Might leave the heater box out for the wedding, I dont think I can get it modified and repaired in time, so some tape over the holes will do!
Im just really really pumped to get it on the road, and wit webers too! should go a whole heap better, the SUs were always too rich (I needed to buy new needles, never got around to it) and I can fine tune/match the webers a bit better too.
I'll get photos as I go.

Im doing a bachelor of business, majoring in marketing and picking up some graphic/commercial design units on the side as electives.
I was promotoed to Marketing Co-ordinator a few months ago, so shitloads more pressure at work too!
Progress from last night-
Clutch linkages all removed, drip trays and booster bracket rubbed and ready to paint.
Started to rub back the booster, and realised it had a run of brake fluid down the front at the bottom. (this was at 10ish last night)so it needed to be washed, degreased and then rubbed......
Instead I went for a leisurely drive down the road (20 minutes worth each way) to a good mates work (he does night shift at a massive manufacturing place)
And got it glass blasted instead!
Ive got a short video of it being blasted too, so cool!
Car is going to painters at lunch time today (different place to where the panel work was done, Im making use of all the favours and rush jobs I can!)
I'll throw some photos up of my mates work later on (and the video of the blasting)
Also, Webers are all set up and ready to bolt on, sorted out some linkages like I wanted (the alfa type) and drilled one lot of jets (carby specialist mate lent us his $500 set of number drill bits!)
Basically I just need to slap a fresh coat of paint over the block, clean up a few things (check the sump) and then I can bolt it all in.
then its a weeks worth of nights sorting out the wiring!

Still need to sort out some aircleaners, going to run the K&N square ones for now. just need some filters and another baseplate/top.
but I bought a set of linkages on friday, bloody expensive things. came to about $250 for the four alfa linkages and im just adapting the old escort twin weber linkage kit (rosejoints and rod) to act as the applier of force to on of the middle sections.
Re-assembled the booster, need to throw it back on the bracket.
Master cylinder will have to come off after the wedding for a re-paint in silver, but its not too dirty anyway, so should look good!
ohh, Sold the corolla on the weekend too! so after the wedding, Im investing in a new weber manifold, im pulling the diff and front ends for a respray and partial rebuild, rolling the gaurds and Im getting new tyres for the new wheels. wooohooo!
Going to be pulling all nighters this week to have it ready, wiring is going to be the main holdup, but we have cleared the whole shed at rays so we can sit it in the middle, front doors open and be able to work under both gaurds at once, on the carpet (so nice and comfy)would have been shitloads easier if we still had the muffler shop! but thats the price you pay!

motor is in, lots of butthole clenching as it went in, no scratches thus far (touch wood!)
Throwing the auxillary bits (water pump, thermo housing, alternator, fan, radiator, hoses, dizzy and coil etc) back on tonight and also making a start on the wiring.
Ordering my new carpet today, fingers crossed it makes it by friday! it wont have a shifter boot or a handbrake boot, but it will look shitloads better, and make me happy!
The whole car is going to look so freaking different! I cant wait!
Going to drop off the corolla to its new owner too! money is in the bank already!

You've inspired me to tidy up my engine bay also, Not quite to your extreme but i think some braided hoses and plenty of chrome bits & bobs to dress it up a bit

Make sure you do something about your front end mounting bolts & washers.

Thanks again for the compliments craig!
Ima bit miffed as to why the noltec (blue) bushes on the crossmember mounts have discouloured (heat effected maybe?)
Im not going to do anything with them before the wedding, but afterwoods, Im going to look at my options (chrome or paint them silver)
Or if I can find some sort of press over chrome cap, that would be the best option as I worry about painted bolts chipping when being tightened.

Extractors and weber manifold are on and sorted, its a VERY easy setup to remove, undo the manifold bolts, linkage and fuel lines and it slides straight up and out. Alot easier then my old setup!
Still need to sort out final jetting and emulsion tubes, but other then that, they are right to go on.
Ordered the carpet yesterday, should be here by friday.
Going to run some ram tubes and socks (I think) for the wedding, not enough time to sort anything else out.
Tonight Im starting on the wiring, have to pull the seats out and the carpet, bought a bunch of little wiring clips to hold the wires up under the gaurds, moving the fuse box and relays to the inside of the car.
Still need to put the whole brake assembly back together,+ bleed system, aswell as the clutch linkages and sort out a throttle linkage assembly.
Once its together and running, Then I will drive it to my joint and put the bumper, lights, bonnet, blinker/parker and all the rest of the parts on.
pics later today

but I'll try and get around to it today.
Last nights work-
Electrical-
Passengers side wiring completed,
Starter motor, temp sender, alternator wiring run out trans tunnel and along block
Drivers side wiring layed out, ready to go tonight
Alarm wiring is a bit of a bitch, but it should be too much drama.
Booster re-installed
Webers re-jetted, and rebuilt ready to go on
Drip plates ready to rivet on tonight
Drivers side headlight assembly is back in,
Carpet is out, seats are out (makes working under the dash easier!)
On a more exciting note, Karlie rang to tell me my new carpet arrived just after I left for work at 6am! hows that for service!
she sent me a photo that I will put up with the rest, Im f*cking excited! Im going to thrash the balls off this after the wedding!
