Car looks great Chris! Orange engine bay was a fantastic choice!

Must say though, when I didnt read the caption about the picture of the carpet, I did think it was the dogs bed :tease:

Looking forward to more pics!

WE GOT THERE!

Pictures later on.

Friday arvo I knocked off at 3.30 and flew home (sorry to anyone I scared on the F3)

From there on in it was a bit of a horror run as we either couldnt find the bolts/nuts/parts we needed or things needed excessive modification to fit!

The groom (gary) popped around with one of his groomsmen (Darryl) and helped out for a few hours late in the night.

Got her running at about midnight (neighbours must love us)and was running open ram tubes as we didnt have any filters.
Bench bled the master cylinder, rebent and installed the rear brake fluid line to hide it out of the way, oil+filter change, fish oiled the shit out of places and a whole bunch more stuff.

by 2am I couldnt hold my hands still enough to do up bolts and my body was pretty much in shutdown mode, so I called it a night, drove home and jumped into bed at about 2.50am.

Was then up at 7am and back at my parents joint to keep working.

Fitted the carpet, made all the brackets for the relays/fuses/msd under the dash, made up some temporary plastic panels to cover the heater box holes, tested all the wiring (which had a problem), re-fitted the interior, re-bled the brakes, adjusted the clutch linkage, timed the engine, re-fitted the wheels etc

Wheeled it outside and gave it a wash while waiting for the bonnet to turn up (it was still at my house!)

After slogging it out all morning, we were meant to be at Gary's at 1.30 (wedding was at 3.30, but photos etc had to be taken, plus the 30 minute drive)

At 1.20 I flew home, had the quickest shower/shave/get dressed calamity known to man, jumped back in the ute and flew back to mum and Rays where I found the torana sitting with no plugs in it......

It had badly fouled a plug, so my brother was on a mercy dash to long jetty repco (20 minutes- 10 there, 10 back) to get 6 more.

He got back and between Ray, me and my uncle (who was also doing the wedding in his torana) were madly throwing plug boxes and installing 2 plugs each!

We got to Garys just on 2pm with my torana running like absolute shit (looked good though)

So we piled in and with a couple fouled plugs and the car missing like a fembit, we drove up to somersby to the wedding/reception location.

We got there in one peice (after the slowest freeway drive EVER!)

I pulled up at the doors to let the boys out, and then she wouldnt start again! so picture 5 guys in suits, pushing my torana up a hill and then back/forward to park it for photos!

was a bit of a laugh, but atleast it got us all there.

Im going to get a few photos from Renee and Gary when they get their wedding albums and stuff, I'll post those eventually, but I took a couple (should have taken more, but my brain wasnt working well)

All in all was an awesome night, excellent reception and a very deserving Bride and Groom.

EDIT-
forgot to mention, after we dropped the bride and groom and some friends/fmaily of theirs back at their house, we went to drop the torana back at my parents for the night.

still running like shit, I cracked it, dropped a set out the bottom of their street and the thing cleared out!

Tune could still use some work (we didnt have much time)

but it goes like a scalded cat! And im in love all over again! haha

Saturday at about 1:00pm

finally together, running and washed (dust storm got into the shed!)

The white bits are some 2mm plastic sheeting I cut up and used to cover the heater box holes for the day.

Really contemplating removing the heater box all together, it looks so clean without it!

I wil have to get some photos of the interior and a video of some driving antics too!

so happy to have it back on the road, after giving it a squirt once it cleaned out, its going to be a whole lot quicker then ever before.

hahaha, thanks Lee.

If I do decide to get rid of the heaterbox, I'll just make up a plate to cover the holes, I dont really want to plate any of them over, just in case!

haha beige LJ, it was tight, and im going to pay for the lack of sleep for a few weeks to come I think!

minor update.....

heater box isnt going back in!

Im going to make up an L shaped panel to cover the holes.

Will more then likely screw in via the original type holes, and im going to buy some rubber gasket material and make up a gasket to sit underneath, rather then gluing/sickaflexing it down.

Im going to fix the heater box though and have it on standby incase I ever get pinged for not having it, or get the urge to have a heater in winter.

definitely.

It might have one or two bolt heads poking through, but other then that it will be flat and orange, maybe with a rolled edge to give it a cleaner look (rather then just the edge of the piece of metal

My guess?
Being a Holdeen six, it has that much power that the fan sucked the engine off it's mounts and it smashed into the radiator! :spoton:

Hey
I recon a lesson learnt there, begone with the mechanical fan,
drag yourself into the 20th centry and get some thermo fans hey,
and get a 3 core radiator this time.
and go and give it hell,
Cheers Baz
