I think the whole thing is disrespectful to John Harvey and David Parsons, and now that it's being perpetuated despite the clear evidence,
I agree with this wholeheartedly. Perpetuating the myth about the QLD car is totally disrespectful to Harvey, one of Australia's greatest all round drivers, and to Skippy Parsons.
(IMO, the scratches on the right sill of the car in the Museum are more than enough verification. That sort of detail can't be successfully replicated).

I've been pushing it for a long time because I've known all along, and I know more than was revealed in that story, including the truth about the log books which I won't comment more on out of respect to the person who had them. I also know all this evidence was around before Brock wrote his letter to AMC. The other thing is I don't like cars being displayed as something they are not. Everyone gets caught out eventually.
I think the whole thing is disrespectful to John Harvey and David Parsons, and now that it's being perpetuated despite the clear evidence, it's also disrepectful to Brock who clearly made a mistake, but the way Mort, Bev and Peter are continuing it, it makes Brock look like he was out to deceive everyone.
You have to ask one simple question. Why did Brock (if the Bathurst car is 25) send it to the museum painted as 05 and specifically instruct the museum not to display it as 05? Why when he was photographed with Perkins and the car a few years later didn't he tell the museum to change its identity? Why from the time it was dropped off in 1985 (and brought back to his workshops at some point), to the point where he supposedly saw the car in the UK didn't he say anything to the museum? He had plenty of opportunity to do so. As Lewis said also, despite repeated requests, Peter never signed a letter of authenticity for that car in QLD. Both Phil and Lewis even say the Bathurst car is the 05 car, thats got to tell you something.
Very well put.... as I'm sure you could have dumped........ and, the silence from the other side is deafening .... Respect is everything in life, it's more valuable than money ........ much respect Red.............

New AMC is out with a heap of Champion fans in the letters section still denying the car at the bathurst museum is 05. Mostly their reasoning seems to be that Mort & Bev say that PC has the car! Denying the smoking gun evidence presented in the article? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised after them previously denying the evidence also presented by the Bertie Street forum instigation......
Relax, people are still debating about Neil Armstrong being the first person not to walk on the moon, who shot JFK, the Loch Ness monster etc. The term attention deficit disorder comes to mind.

I have a bit of a hunch as to what actually transpired when the big banger was sold to the UK.. I reckon Mr Cleland wanted the bathurst winner & that's what he thought he was buying.. Certain people mocked up 25 as 05 and put it in a container, then have spent the years since covering it up. Brocky was pretty desperate to buy 25 back off John Farrell as he knew that he wouldn't be able to get the museum car back, he was then pretty desperate for PC to buy the car off Willie Van Wersch after Willie got it back to Australia.. Maybe Brocky saw the writing on the wall?
All due respect to Brocky of course, But the evidence kind of paints a picture doesn't it. He was far from the only one doing things like that to keep a race team going though! For example Dick Johnson did a similar thing with the "rock" car, convinced everyone it was screwed, got bailed out by Ford & the Australian population then repaired it and sold it and it raced til then end of group C...
