Great debate, it doesn't have to get personal though....... glad to see the passion, that's what these cars evoke, and that is great...... Personally I don't care.... if Brocks car was destroyed 2 laps from the end of the Great Race, and they rebuilt it with Panels and Mirrors from what ever, and stuck it in the Museum, would it be any different...... When Brock won in Harvey's car, Which car is Brocks?? it took both cars to win....... did it matter ?........... weren't they identical cars ? , with different numbers .... but as I said, gotta love the passion...

i think the back of this mirror is flat
I think I see curving of the outer upper and lower front edge of the mirror
I think I see a flat top edge and well defined top step
all classis VH rear vision atributes
I do not see the diagonal ridge that joins the outer upper corner to the Joint line
I also see the line/joint that you are talking about, but it extends out to more than 1/2 the length of the mirror and is
not of the right angle, I do not see this as the joint in a VK mirror
if there was a better photo there would be no need for speculation or interpretation
Cheers

Does this add any more fuel to this fire, these were taken in the museum when i went to the Great Race in 2009.

I know mate, still like the photo in my first post though. How cool would it been to go flat out round silverstone in a HDT commodore.
The trick with driving a dunnydore is to make sure you turn on the NOT FOR HIRE sign on the roof or else you get those people stepping out in front of your from any taxi rank that you pass. (wanting to get home)

you cant possible compare the colours in the paintwork from that montage Balfizar put up,
different light, different cameras, different white balance settings etc etc.
Or am I missing some other difference in them

OLJ
The montage is supposed to show the marked (at least I can see it) difference between paint :- (guard to bonnet to flare)
taken by many different cameras, taken in many different lighting environments (indoor/outdoor) and taken with many different
camera settings, but I think consistently showing a difference. A difference that the investigation could neither see, measure or acknowledge.
Some people know there is overspray on the front doors
Some people know there is overspray on the rear door stricker bolt
Some people know that the front guard had to be resprayed to have the "castrol" removed
and some people can see that the Marlboro across both doors had to have been redone.

The fact is the car has had little touch ups while it's been in the museum. Someone broke the front spoiler for starters and I believe they use the TAFE to fix it so the quality won't be there.
The investigation was to prove that areas like the roof and the damage on the rear quarter had not been changed.
Anyway, Chassis number 6 was brocks car, straight from the holder of the log books that were kept up until a few years ago and thrown out in a house cleanup.

In the pics that Mort put up from the Bathurst Museum iin 2009, the Museum is telling us, by the sign they have up, saying, THIS IS THE REAL 05,

I reall do nto understand why this dead horse is still being flogged, even Peter Champion admitts that he has 025 Harveys car, for me the proof is in the passenger rear quarter in Bathurst 84 Harveys car took a hit in the rear quarter by Geroge Fury that saw Harvey punted off on turn one. The Bathurst museum car has no sign of any damage or repair in the rear quarter so it MUST be Brock's 05 car.
In my next post 101 uses for a dead horse

The NMRM is making money from the display of the 05 VK. If PC really believed he had the 05 car and had real proof, he could have taken them to court at the time he had his museum up and running. This never happened.
One thing that always amazes me is he spent a lot of money restoring that car and there are a lot of mistakes, the most obvious is the two flags against the drivers names and the alignment.

EXACTLY Red! I have been following this topic for years and 05 is at Bathurst! Another thing, I have seen photos of the Farrell owned 25 Harvey car, with the black COMMODORE writing across the windscreen and its numbered 52 (25 reversed) before it went O/S! The Bathurst 05 car is virtually unmolested!
