So whatever that date is of the Warick Farm race in 1970 would tell you the date of the First LC XU-1 Batch

And the Yellow LC HDT XU-1 that Harry Firth took to Warick Farm race track was the First LC XU-1 off the line, after they won the race, Harry told Bob Jane and that to put there order's in at there Local dealers due to the start of Race they said to Harry you Racing Toy Cars now.
So whatever that date is of the Warick Farm race in 1970 would tell you the date of the First LC XU-1 Batch
I think that story relates to KRK-720, the lina mint car that Bond drove at Warwick Farm on 6 Sep 70, and passed Bob Jane's Monaro on the last lap. Pg's 44 and 54 of AMC #29. Bob Forbes drove a yellow XU1 in that race. I recall Ray Bell (former RCN journalist) saying that Bob Forbes actually gave the XU1 its race debut (possibly the week before that race at the Farm).

One of them was at the 2007 Muscle Car Masters. I think it was red and is running some sort of fuel injected monster engine. Looked really good. I think the owner is an ex-member of the NSW XU-1 Club. He was parked down the hill from where the XU-1 club were, towards the Grandstand....I'm sure everyone remembers itDoes anyone on here own or know of the first production models made on 26-6-70?
I might have a photo, but not hopeful.

My car is brisbane build
Craig A & Zook
I remember that rally red that was at the Muscle car masters, It was also at the all holden day at hawksbury showground, Very nice car. I spoke to the owner and he told me that he bought it brand new. The only thing with that is the first batch was not sold to the public. Maybe it was like a demo model when he got it. Thats possably the only one left of the 26-6-70. Even though the motor, gearbox and diff had been changed, it,s still a rare and valueble car.

I know that my LC was the 13 th LC XU-1 to be made .
It is an Adelaide car and was also the first XU-1 to have its engine number recorded by GMH.

Wow, LC870, that's some special car you've got there. So is it the 7th of regular production then, taking away the first 6 in June and then commencing regular production?

I was looking at the VIN file for Adelaide build xu1,s
The first xu1 built in adalaide vin # L153805 on 3-7-70, there were 4 built on this day.
3-7-70 = 4 built
9-7-70 = 4 built
10-7-70 = 3 built
13-7-70 = 2 built
14 7-70 = 1 built
14-8-70 = 16 built
your car is the first of the 14-8-70 whitch makes it xu1 # 15

1433 because we wanted them....after the initial 700 units could not meet demand....200 more built in 1971....but I could be wrong...as i am old now....
R
Ah the old 1433 theory..........
The VIN Bible (VIN DISC) tells us there were 700 LC XU-1,s built in 1970, 700 LC XU-1,s built in 1971. Only 1400 in total (NOT 1433).
So why was there only 700 LC XU-1,s built each year ???
