Im pretty sure I was there when you ran that time Pete. It was at WSID and John Habib was riding on the rear bumper and Craig Hewitt ran a 7.77.
It was the Pro Street Shootout if my memory serves me correctly.

Love your work Pete, SUXGAS is my favourite all time Torana. Keep up the good work

Cheers

Hey Pete!

Looks like youve managed to update your time in the time slip system?

I'm going o remove the register from here because the time slip system is the one to use :)

NOSlx - did you have any luck with the time slip system taking the time? - Just note that it goes in "Unapproved" till a mod approves it!

Cheers Guys!

Do you think we could split drag cars from street cars (street tyres and exhaust)?

^^ The only problem is, all the people who make out their "drag cars" are really "street cars"

IMO, Street cars are cars that can comfortably drive to the track and are in a roadworthy condition.

Good point, some people think because they have plates and a rego sticker they can call "any car" a street car (and people pee me off who do that too)

Maybe we could just have a short list of things to make it clear what is actually a real "street car" ?

things like.......

street legal tyres
working headlights & windscreen wipers
exhaust (at least back to the diff)
pump fuel (no addatives)
air cleaner
interior

etc,etc

Personally i would say NOS ,even though technically not "legal" should be allowed ?,as i know a lot of people have/use it on real street driven cars (bloody cheaters ! ha-ha)

If using NOS, Turbo or Supercharged, or a real street car but used "race slicks" this info should be listed for all to see (i know we have a spot for Induction already)

Or.....If nothing else, could we leave street & drag cars together as they are, but just have a place to put what brand/type of tyres your time was run on ,"MT slicks" or "ET streets" tyres etc, that would be great, as we all know running slicks can make big difference to 1/4 mile times, this information may also help other users with tyre choice. :spoton:

Surley just listing Street or Slick tyres would not cause any problems/differences of opinions ?

that particular torana is one the toughest 308s non stroker that i have ever driven,308 bored 60thou,solid cam and a set of vn heads and built by one the best engine builders in the country Ned from Hercules Competition race engines in sydney..11.2 121mph the speed is good enough to run 11.00 and perhaps 10.99 not bad for a streeter..this car on our gmh forum private day recently smashed and broke the diff housing in half..this is one savage beast and yes it is occasionally street driven...gmhl34 now that rings a bell...
