Hey guys, I now have a 355ci V8 in my LC but still have Pedders heavy duty lowered (6 cyl) springs in the front.
These springs are stiffer than standard springs, but should I be changing to a set of "V8" springs?
What are your thoughts?
Any experience with V8 LC/LJ's?

Pedder make V8 Springs for V8 LJ,but they make your front end sit up real high, the standard 6cyl pedder springs i say sit up the correct height on a LJ front end.

I say you need Heavy duty Standard Height Pedder Springs,so with the V8 in it,it will sit at standard height,in my dealings with V8 LJ's

But if your Car has not got Rego yet,you have to use the V8 Pedder Springs in your car, well thats how it is in my State on the V8 LJ Rego set up.

When you get New Rego, the V8 Pedder Springs. what they Do,on your LC/LJ Front end where the Rubber triangles are in Front end,ya bump Stops, the V8 Pedder Springs raise it to the height that the RTA Love and is ok in there World on there Recommendations,But in the real world your V8 LC/LJ sits up that high with them springs in.
They Measure your Rubber bump Stops in your front end,got to be a certain Height, but if you have rego you wont have to use the V8 Pedder Springs that sit up 6 Foot LOL

Thanks for the info xu2308. My car already has rego, but is not yet engineer certified with that engine (that will come a bit later).

Anyone know the difference in specs for the Pedders 6cyl and V8 springs? I wonder whether the V8 ones are the same but just longer... ?

I say they be higher to lift your Front End,Due to take weight of the V8 but the Springs go overboard LOL,What i did years ago i Built a 4 Door LJ my first V8 LJ,so i knew what i was doin,i had to use the V8 Pedder Springs to get Reg in my state, then once rego i took them out and put in the standard height 6Cyl Pedder Springs in.Back in 1994 ya dident need the Chassis kit in my state or a engineering ticket here, but its changed here now ya need chassis kit and engineering report and V8 LX Discs and V8 LX Calipers plus all your A.D.R's on your A.D.R Plate here in my state.

2001 they bought in the Chassis kits and Engineering Reports in Tassy,i think Vic and NSW have had the Chassis kit and Engineering report in for a fair while, long time before us.
But Tassy has caught up in 2001 to Mainland states with it,but in tassy you can still do 308 V8 in LJ

Pedders are just heavy duty 1 inch raised springs,if you have hq stubs it will sit close to the standard 6 cyl height.

OK, so where would be the best place to buy a pair of these Lovell springs? How much would they cost roughly?

I was told many years ago that King Springs make Lovells. Anyone know if this is still the case?
If so, are there any differences between Kings and Lovells (apart from the yellow and blue)?

We all have opinions...mine are from race teams whom did exactly what memory lane said...asked and they made the springs for your application..nice people too..Pedders are not made in Australia..you work it out. Just my 2cs.

The icing on the cake is that Pedders own Rally cars do not utilise Pedders shocks or struts they use Bilstien

Well Bilstein are the Holy Grail of the Shocky World
But i have had no trouble with pedder in a V8 LJ,the 308 i had in my White V8 XU-1 would Rev to 7000rpm in all gears,so it went hard i had Koni shocks in that and pedder coils, and never had handling probs, the V8 LX Discs And V8 LX Calipers struggled sometimes to slow the beast down.
