Please leave them alone JLM43!!. Not intending to criticise members cars that don't have the original rivets in place for whatever reason (common reason was to preserve them from theft), but in my personal opinion original rivets is a small albeit significant tick in the authenticating box when critiquing our cars, as they are a unique looking rivet unlike models after the LC/LJ. More often than not we see cars for sale boasting that the original rivets are in place.

I like the ads that claim the 'tags have never been removed' but in the ad pics the tag rivets have clearly been tampered with.

Ha ha ha I agree Dave, the original rivets in place doesn't always carry with it unquestionable integrity. Even my uninitiated eye has see a couple of photos of rivets since being a member that look like they've been tampered with. Thanks to the prices these cars are fetching, particularly the muscle cars, its hard to believe anything on face value, which is a sad reality.

Wow
They are the Tags to the Strike ME Pink LJ XU1 308 V8 Torana that came to Tas in Late 1973 and later on turned into a Group C Race Car in 1976. The Tas owner moved it to Qld in 1980 and sold it in 1989 to someone in Toowoomba and he heard it might of got caught up in the 2011 Floods near Toowoomba and the last he had heard of the XU1.
Was turned into a Sports Sedan in 1980 and is the Last Adelaide Built Strike me Pink LJ XU1.
Paint number is stamped wrong from factory but Trim Number is Correct, very sad the XU1 has ended up dead going off someone selling the Tags to it.
