How anyone can think a set of tags off a 6cyl auto LX SL are even worth $4 is beyond me, let alone $4000. Not even a nice colour combo.

Just saw these, sold a few days ago on EBay with a 1/18 scale XU1 model.

Rare and unusual TRIM line. In case an 8/73 Acacia Ridge XU1 in Sunburst Metallic with 59Y (Chestnut with B&W Herringbone insert) trim turns up here are tags to compare. By the chassis number almost certainly a 150 list car too if it was an XU1.

I thought so too. Looks like 290x0xB. That puts it right at the end of August 1968, I can only see two candidates if those are the right numbers: H290602 and H290702. Although if those aren't the digits there is maybe a dozen other candidates. I reckon if I stare hard enough I can see 290602B under that tape, but it might be wishful thinking. In any case:

8D11LCH290602 or rare possibility of a predicted September completion but complianced 8/71 so 8D11LDH290602. Buyer beware!

Also throw in 8D11LCH290702 and 8D11LDH290702

^^That happens sometimes with Dandenong tags Laurie. They try to speed things up and pre-stamp some of the chassis number and add the last digits last.

This one turned up on facebook today.  Being sold as genuine 5000.

The body number is too high to even be Torana isn't it? Wrong rivets. Obvious re-stamping.

Somebody had a very bad day on the typewriter at GMH that day!

The highest Torana PSN I have recorded is J708580 and that was (apparently) on a 07/80 UC

I believe that body ID Plate may have originated form a VH Commodore.

Commodore had 'Built' under the Paint line and 27X is a Commodore trim code for two tone Indigo Blue corded cloth trim in the SL/X.

The original drive train specs on the tag would have been LD1, M20 and GU7 was the optional economy rear axle ratio.

You can clearly see the trans was originally stamped M20.

Also no Torana had a Dulon paint code like 1CO01?
