Yeah, that one has been mentioned on here before. It's an LC with an LJ GTR VIN tag.

Hi Mate
This one was around a few years ago. The VIN (the long number) is from an Adelaide LJ but the ADR/Chassis Number and Body ID tag is from a Sydney LC.
Cheers

Same seller as last time. Last time he pictured the Vin tag & was told of the mis-match. This time he has not pictured it & has chosen not to mention it.

That is actually a good way to get plates for a collection, i'm always happy to buy stuff with plates free if I want the plates bad enough, but I wouldn't be paying $495 for parts I don't need to get a set of free SL/R plates, divide by 5 or so and i'd be keen as I don't actually have any L20 M40 SL/R plates in my collection, and i'd give the bits away to someone who wanted them.
This is the dodgy way, and they are just for a dunger HZ van optioned only with a 253 so who the hell would pay anything for them?:

Rather than putting in only photos, please type in the tag numbers.
Chances are the person buying a car will google the VIN, etc. Always do this when buying a car.
Google can't detect numbers in photos but typed in numbers will come up in a search.
Photos linked to ebay tend to expire, typed in numbers will stay.

Question........ How come the information on some of the Body Identification Plates on LJ's are indented and not raised...??

Earlier Pagewood bodies are stamped downward on the BODY plate (like early 1968). Some backshift or one off stuff done this way too (eg part of the VIN tag on one of my GTS327's is like this (the GMH stamped bit)). Elizabeth BODY plates were stamped downwards up until later in HJ. The reason is Elizabeth and Pagewood BODY plants didn't have the machine to stamp from behind.

I can't believe how good of a job they did on the tag. You cannot pick it from an original!

That is the chassis number. M = Melbourne.
Some LH/LX experts should be able to give you an idea of a build date time frame from the chassis number but that is about all.

Does anyone know where these photos came from? I know they are on Facebook (which I can't access anyway), but is that the only place they are? If not how do I contact the owner, any ideas?
