Also depends on your bushes.I also agree with Datto
no point having big wheels with piss ant little brakes behind but if you already have big brakes etc whats wrong with 18's?
my plans are for 225/40 or 45/18 for the front and 335/30/18 on the back
front suspension has raised height springs with 2" drop stubs and Koni adjustables
back suspension is fully adjustable coil overs
anyone think this would be too harsh?
I run 215/45/17's with all polys in the back and almost all polys in the front and lowered springs and I couldn't be happier with my ride quality.
When I was building it I was kind of expecting it to skip over the road and have a lot of NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness), but I'm really surprised and happy with how it's turned out.
Sure it's not like a new European car, but for a 75 Holden, I reckon it's awesome.

I run 17's and I reckon it looks the business.14,15,16 I say on a LH-LX otherwise any bigger looks stupid, and them Big Wheels with Rubber Band Tyres on them, you hit a pot Hole,Band a Dent in Rim,Tyre Leaking.
Put the 17,18,19,20 on the New Dore's where they Belong
Here's an idea, avoid pot holes!

wouldnt it be more the profile that creates the harshness not the rim size.
I have 235/45/17 and they are fine. a lot of work to get a decent stance though!
agree with both statements

I don't mind the look of these wheels
Tracer chrome
But they only have 17x7 in the chrome.
If I go up to 18 inch they have the chrome in 8 and 8.5 wide which would give me more dish at the back.
I have spoke to them about using spacer to bring the wheel out more as these wheels have the usuall commodore offset of 35mm positive.
What are your opinions on using spacers?
Any other photos of cars with 18s at the back and 17s at the front. What profile do you have on the rears 2wild4u?
If this all fails I will have to go with showwheels. But I don't like the wait time, price and uncertanity of them fitting.
They have a really nice wheel in HQ stud patttern. But the commodore stud pattern is slightly different. Any ideas of maybe converting to HQ?
HQ king wheels
Thanks

but they are all a no no when it comes to mr plod.
Those first wheels are pretty overplayed in the 4 cyl and commodore brigade (well that style)
Second set are nice.

and its pretty easy to tell when someone is using spacers (all it takes is to look at the hub and wheel and see the spacer)
Why not order some wheels in the right offset to suit your car?
I suppose it comes down to how much you want to spend, youve done everything else to a 100% standard, so in my opinion you shouldnt stop on the wheels!

I rang ROH and for custom wheels 17's start from about $750 a wheel with a 4month lead time.
I ordered the streeters yesterday and I was told they should be at my place 1000km's away on monday. Not bad.
My 2 cents anyway.

Why not do it the other way around and change the stud pattern when you do the brakes? Or are you planning on leaving the rears standard?really need bigger wheels so I can upgrade the brakes( standard shit!) to Hopper Stoppers...
