Update: I've paid a rwc inspector to do a visual of the vehicle & supply a written report.
I now have his report. It's worse than i expected.

Well ........ it's official. Purple will NOT be at Toranarama.
Only 1 thing to do, pull the engine & do the job right.
It will give me the opportunity to re do the brake pipes, fix/remove the fan cowl, run the fuel lines & set up most of the wiring.
Oh the joys of building a car!

Don't give up Col, there's still time.
And with the money you save by doing it yourself, you can buy a small island somewhere.

WTF, don't do this to me, i'm having trouble finding motivation as it is without you pulling out.
Not being selfish just bummed it won't be finished in time.
Are you still going down without Purple.
Not good to hear Col, hope you have some good luck to be able to get it finished.

WHAT THE frOck, i can't believe they charged you for that and consider it a job well done, you could have done a better job yourself, and saved a squillion.
Take Bomber up on his offer, one weekend, many beverages (after job done) and hey presto a better and cheaper job.
I am so glad i chose the other brake shop to make my brake lines, i nearly went to BB instead.
