   Well done Col when i left your house 6 months ago i was worried that all roads were leading to a 911

Great to see you are still focused on the Torrie i like black for the door handles and i think your driveline sounds spoton for a "shopping trolley with a bit of overtaking ability lol"

I will enjoy watching this thread

Thanks Garth.
It does get a bit confusing building 2 cars at once. But i knew it wouldn't be easy.
I just need to delegate time.

Edit: If everything goes according to plan.....Tomorrow i pay the painter, pick up the other parts [which are finished] & the engine covers.
Saturday the trimmer is fitting the roof lining. Sunday the glass fitter will install the front/rear screens. Then it's wash time!
Fingers crossed.

I don't ever want to do another one in a hurry! lol

I think you shoulda put the flash on for those pics haha we can't see shit, but I trust that you put it in.

What material is your headlining? I have a kinda stretchable cloth headlining in mine and it was very easy to install. Only took me 2-3 hrs at a relaxed pace with no experience, i understand that the vinyl ones are significantly more difficult to put in...

Still haven't got the screens in yet. Hopefully in the next few days.
I still have to remove the carpet yet.....again!.....& trim the underfelt.
Seatbelts in the front are done, interior is about 75%.

I think the silver grill with the chrome bumper looks alright! Not sure what it will be like with painted bumpers. Only 1 way to find out! lol

Posted Image

All this little stuff takes time.

Posted Image

I'm trying to get the headlight surrounds soda blasted. I figure it wont leave any scratches, then i can repaint the black.

Does anyone suggestions for joining a bumper rubber together?
I would be looking for an idea to achieve a joinless seam. Thinking about frenching the bumpers.

Hey mate, it's looking nice so far. I like the colour, it's quite similar to what i want for mine.

+1 vote for black door handles and colour coded bumpers

Sorry i have no suggestions for the bumper rubbers, my car has no rubber strips or over-riders. I'm just going to paint 'em body colour and paint the black strip along the centre.

I'm not sure about the grill, but it does seem to work well and it's different. Looking forward to seeing a few pics when you've got a chunky set of rims under the beast, i'm sure you are too : )

PS- the first pic in this thread is absolutely horrifying! I can barely look at it

Just a little update:
I've been doing a lot of little things while i'm waiting for the rest of the parts to come back. The screens are sealed now, so i can stop fretting about getting water in the screen rails. Happy days!
Still waiting on the gearbox & rims being finished.
I'm preparing to do a dummy fit of the engine & box. I am keen as mustard to find out if all the homework will pay off.

A big thankyou to ronaldredsox for the time & effort in sorting the sticker position for me.
Also, thanks to Craig [bathurstxuimonaro?] for supplying the lost centre cap that i needed.
Cheers guys. I appreciate your efforts.

Edit: If i can take a side pic of the car, is there anyone experienced enough to photoshop some rims on it?

Take a pic from the side and squat down so the camera is about level with the door handles. Try and make it as 2D as you can. If possible, have the sun over your shoulder (behind you) when you take it and also if possible do it on something that isnt grass.

If you have the rims with you stand one on a milk crate or something and take a similar pic. Post em up or email to me [email protected] and I will see what I can do.

Cheers,

T

BTW - Looks like the beast is coming along nicely mate.

Edit - Andy beat me to it. :)

Or, if you have a picture of the wheels you want, try and take a photo of the exact same angle of your car. That way a flawless photoshop will be easy!

Col is it a LH or LX as you have LH stickers with a LX paint job? love the colour.

Yeah Kev, it's a LH with the LX interior from 'black'.
I just prefer the LX look. I tried it without the blackouts Posted Image

But it didn't seem to suit.
It needed something to break up the color. Posted Image

I think the black suits it. :dontknow:

The things we do in the pursuit of a clean engine bay.

Posted Image

Now i have to remove the heater box.... again!...so i can put a captive nut in the top centre hole!

Oh, the paint still has rustproofing crap all over it. I haven't cleaned it yet.

Getting there..... slowly.
