Building these things on a stoestring budget, you kinda have to wait until the right part comes along at the right price. That just swallows up time.
I've begged & borrowed, wheeled & dealed, bartered & bastardised my way thru this build.
The one thing i didn't want to do was have to draw on the family budget to build it. I've done alright so far
Todays effort: The local trader came out on friday. Reading throught the car bits section first [ as i always do] , i came across an add for a set of Simmons.
15 x 7's & 15 x 9's. Grey centre, HQ pattern with rubber. $1100 ono.
They are the sizes i was looking for, with the PCD i wanted, in the style i wanted! You could say i was kinda interested....... so i rang the owner.....
yes mate... no gutter rash... all centre caps... set of Yokies 352's on the rears. 75%..... not sure about the front rubber...
Now the downside.... he lives 320ks away & wants a quick sale! So i offered him a grand! ..... "I'll think about it"
Saturday arvo i still hadn't heard back from him, so a m8 gave him a call. Negotiated him down to $900! lol
I left at 8am this morning to go get them. What i didn't know about [no phone signal] was the phone calls which were going on in the mean time.
About 8:30 the seller discovered that they wern't grey... but gold! He apologised for the inconvenience.... & knocked another $100 off~! Hehehehehe.
I must have had stars in my eyes on the way home because i missed the turnoff & went for a 220K drive up the wrong road. lol Had to do a U-turn & go back. I coasted into the servo. lol
Pics tomorrow.

I ended up 186k's from Charters Towers. lolNice score Col, was the 320k's out West, sounds like you missed the Mackay turn off and ended up at Belyando Crossing
Hey.... the road was good, it was raining, there was nobody else on the road.... i was 'enjoying' the drive! lol

I'm gonna have to get off my arse and come in and check out the car, one day i'll get in there with some time to myself and pop around for a coffee again.
