Still hoping to get a little more out of this combo before any major changes had a random at the track get a little upset when his alloy headed SBC ran slower and made the claim "i thought you needed a chev to run 11's"

Excellent stuff goat!
Joe (unclefesta) can vouch for the trusty old 308! He's down to 11.1 at my best recollection !

117mph shows a solid mid 11 similar to my Q, very stout times!!

10.20 @ 132 mph (with NOS), 11.0 @ 124 mph (without NOS) HK 350 TH400 Monaro (3340lbs/1515kg) , 30 YEARS AGO !! at Castlereagh.

They made us run a parachute back then (over 130 mph), I believe that it has changed to 140 mph now.

I'm very well thanks Tiny, I don't actually feel 'old', but I'm on the wrong of 60 now.

I thought that I was getting 'old' until I ran into an old drag racer the other day who was instrumental in setting up Castlereagh drags around 1964. Back then most guys ran Grey motored FX/FJs, but if you had real money a Ford Customline V8 was the go. No Chev V8s back then.

11.43 is a good time for a street car. When we were racing that time would get into the top 8 in Super Sedan.

Thanks Lee, it doesn't have a cage, its only the second time the car has been to the track, the first being rained out.

I'm only licensed to run in the 11 second bracket, I'm not sure what to do with the car at the moment, either go faster or slow it down.

How is your car going?

I drove in, had fun, then drove home. On street tyres which made for a handful.
12:58@113mph
Wheel spin galore but had a lot of fun having a go!
Oh, and manual

Yep 311 cubes. 292 Chev 6 bored to 4". 90% grout filled block. Should have seen the mess when one of the custom alloy rods broke in half after just 35 passes. It destroyed / exploded most of the block, cam etc away.

That thing is still the quickest and fastest NA 6 cylinder sedan in Australia.
