Wiring Hidden, ran it up behind the guard... Reasonably easy job...
Engine bay painted in just a gloss black... Nothing special... The 253 is going back in for the cruising season as i know the 355 will take a while... Aiming for Xmas with that one.
But yeah, two days flat out on the car (Mixed in with housework, actual work and mowing the lawn) Bloody FLAT OUT this weekend!
Here is another shot of my brakes etc... Looking much betterer!

Can't wait to get it out and CRUISE again!!! I really like how responsive the steering now feels just moving it around the shed, no more steering wheel slop!!
Are you coming tomorrow night then? Be good to see it out again

Nah, engine bay is nothing special... Going Gloss black was just a slight step up from primer... HAHA. When the 355 goes in, the engine bay will get some better loving!!
PUT THE MOTOR IN!!
There'll be a motor in my car, before there is a bumper on the front of your car! HAHA!

Yeah, I did look into it... But apparently it's a fair bit more coin to get the extra power from a 396. Speaking with a few engine builders, and they weren't all that keen on the idea. They think it's easier to make the power on a budget for a 355...
I think if i wanted bigger than 355... I'd just go down the SBC path... Much more proven combos..

The TH700 should help make it a heaps nicer car to cruise! Might be able to get some 4.11's now! HAHA!
I've found a really good Turbo 700 builder to build the box. So it'll be able to handle the power of the 355, and also shift nicely!

The journey u have been on is alot like mine
Blokes spend money getting other people tp do the work.
But theres nothing like learning asking and doing yourself

That's exactly right mate! I love learning about every aspect of my car! Sure, it might not be a show stopper, but i must admit, it's better than a fair few 'professional' jobs i've seen!
Torry's rock!!!

Hopefully I can find some time this week to go have a chat with the engine builder to get it underway... Been flat out at work for the last few weeks and haven't been able to get much done.
Spent Saturday watching the doorslammers @ Calder and getting inspiration again to get stuck into the car!
Here is a really interesting pic... The new auto! HAHA!!!
I didn't realise that the Trimatic tail shaft yoke fits straight into the TH700 either... I always had thought they were different!
