Yeah, there are a few things with my paint i'm not happy with, and the only way to fix would be a complete respray! HAHA! Which just opens up a completely new can of worms! Where to stop!

In the new year, the block will get decked and bottom end balanced! Then its just the heads that gotta be done!
God it looks sexy! to me anyway!

Everything else went together really well as well which I'm stoked with. The Target for easter is looking good! Just a matter of finances now.

Just make sure you spin it over a few times with the long motor assembled to make sure the valves dont get to close.
Cheers.

The funds will be going straight towards the new driveline! It'll pay for the Auto Rebuild and my Summit Order, things will hopefully start all coming together from now!
I might give the engine bay a better clean up again now... Initially I cleaned it up enough to just drop the 253 back in... I might go an extra step now and make it that little bit nicer again! I think I will just leave it black still for now, As I want to repaint the car again in the next few years. I might just trim the side rails and smooth off a few bits here and there.

Yeah, will be a few updates soon... Going in to the engine builder one night this week. I'll try and remember to take some pics of the progress and also share a few more specs of the engine.
One thing I know that the budget has well and truly been blown! LOL!
Im hoping for at least the engine to be built and all together in the next month or so...

Got my cam specs last night. Now Remember, I'm not trying to make maximum peak power, I am aiming for lots of midrange torque and driveability. I don't want to have to spin it to 7000rpm+ as 99% of my driving will be on the street and it will never see those kinda revs. I'm aiming for 425-450hp with 400+ ft/lbs of torque as well.
Static Compression I think is around 10.8:1
Heads have been pocket ported (VN Heads). Apparently should be flowing around 540hp now?
The Cam is a Solid Clive Cam
Here are the specs
Lobe Lift
Ex .326
In .326
Timing Ad
Open Close
85-43
45-83
Duration
239
239
Valve Clearance
.015
.015
Valve Lift (With my 1.65:1 Rollers)
.526
.526
Wade Cams have a very similar cam and says the rev range is 3600-7000 Rev range on a 308, so a 355 it'll be more like 3100-6500. Which is pretty much exactly what I asked for.
http://www.wadecams...._2 ... pfi).htm (341c Cam)
Also got my High Energy Sump, just got a Super Street One, it looks the goods and Im very happy with it! I think I might drop the T700 off to the trans builder next weekend and get that underway.
I'm pretty excited about it all! My bottom end and heads are a bit over-kill for my initial set-up. I thought I might as well do that right now, as oppose to having to do it all again in the future. I'm just excited as to start having a crack at breaking into the 11's!

i dont think you're going to make 400rwhp with that, maybe 400fwhp

Yeah, I'm talking at the flywheel mate... LOL I'd need more comp and a lot wilder cam to get 400 at the wheels! LOL

Who knows, might opt for some 4.11 gears in the future too... LOL
The 700 won't drain as much power as a TH400... It should be about the same as a TH350. If a TH700 is built right, they'll comfortably handle over 600hp and shift great! So for me thats poi-fect!

if you're getting it any cheaper then that, you're being lied to about the internals and it will break
i went the th400 because of this and warranted/guaranteed to handle 800hp, at $3k to i think i can handle the 20hp loss
