Deadline wise, I am hoping for the start or Spring some time, DEFINITELY going to be at the first Knox Cruise Night!

Hey Matt, i've been following your build thread for a while - love the car and the way you're going about your build.. top job. I hope the rest of it goes smoothly for you!

I'm in Melb as well, and have almost finished rebuilding my LH, when is the first knox cruise night? I'm itching to take my car on its first cruise with other toranas!

Jack.

Hey Jack,

Thanks mate!

The first Knox Cruise Night will be on the 11th of October (2nd Tuesday of Every month during Day light savings)

What side of town are you on? I'm in a car club called Eastside Cruisers, we have HEAPS of Torana's, Monaros, old Holdens and Fords etc in our club, and we are always out and about cruising (Even in crappy winter!)

New engine sounds HOT mate! Not quite as awesome as the old 253, but still ok I guess ;)

Then the box can go in, I can measure how long the tailshaft needs to be, then that will get done! Then I need an exhaust, THEN hopefully it'll get its maiden drive! haha

Not that fast... I don't have much spare time to work on the car... If I'm lucky, I get half a day on the weekend to work on it... It'll get done when I find the time...

Yeah, realistically, there is bugger all needed now to get it moving again! Just a few solid days of work on it and a bit of luck!

I can't wait to take it for its first spin! It'll be great!

You probably will! LOL

I have changed so much, I got to be cautious when I get it back on the road...

I keep forgetting that I have put new steering and suspension in it as well... It's going to be a new car to drive once it all sorted!

Well, Just got back up from the shed after a really productive day!

The Auto is now in! I can't beleive how easy it was this time around! I bought a new jack which made it super easy to manourve and get into place! I just had to drop the headers and the starter motor and it went straight in first time! I gotta say, I have never done anything on my car that has been that easy before!

I have measured up what I need the tailshaft shortened by, and Im going to drop that off tomorrow!

Now there is just the little things to connect up and make sure they are all working sweet! Overall I am super happy!

I can't wait to back it out on the shed for its first drive!!!!!

Aim is to now have it driving before my Birthday! (End of September)

Well, I dropped the tailshaft off yesterday to be shortened! Decided that it is probably worth just getting a new shaft made up with bigger uni's and better yokes etc... That should be all ready by the end of the week!

I spoke with a place that will probably do the exhaust. I'll probably go for a Mandrel bent, twin 2.5" system from the extractors to the Mufflers, with an X Pipe. I have the Hooker Aerochambers for mufflers. Then from the mufflers I'll get some press bent tailpipes made up for street duties, not sure whether it'll go over or under the diff yet... All depends how much room there is. The system will all be flanged, and I'll have a set of dump pipes made up for when I hit the track (Or feel like being noisey on the street! LOL)

It's looking like early September for the exhaust if all goes to plan... Still got a few little bits and pieces to do on the car before it's drivable again! But its getting really close!
