Tiny, I'm one of the very few guys around who is still faster in his own car than his missus! Deb has dragged it plenty of times, but leaves it in 'Drive' rather than manually shifting up the gears. She's consistently a tenth or two behind me :) I'm safe for now! Although I'd be more than happy for her to beat me if it meant seeing the car go 11.60!

Oh Har de har HAR!

Dont worry mate, as gut wrenching as it was, it was awesome to see and hear the car peform to it's fullest potential from OUTSIDE the car... I really was very proud! (And HOW easy is putting on the giggle gas going to be now! :burnout: )

Loving the pictures mate, I cant wait to get out in mine again soon!

Cheers!

Ok I have a small dilemma. As some of you would have noticed, I'm selling off my 2nd set of rear Convo's in the For Sale area (the 8.5's with 275/50x15 MT ET Street Radials).

The 10's that are still on the car, have my street tyres fitted (265/50x15's).

Ever since I've owned the 10's though, I've never really liked the look of the sidewalls - the 265's don't have any bulge. 10" rims really need a 275 or better yet a 295. Because my car is low though, I would never fit them (they scrub already).

I'm wondering if I should re-fit the 8.5's with 265 street tyres, and sell off the 10's with the 275 drag tyres.

The 10's do look great as far as extra dish goes, and also the fact they are single stud pattern, not multi-fit like the 8.5's. But the tyre bulge just isn't happening.

What do you guys think looks better???? I am torn!

Keep the 10's mate! Suck it up with the 265's, they are cheap and if you wanna do skids at DECA its not THAT expensive...

The 10's look better hands down! And 8.5's should only be allowed on the rear of flareless cars! HAHA! 10's FTW

I vote 10s as well, if you want to spend some money why not get some of those 285/40s? I run the 265/50s as well and I reckon the 285/40 would be very slightly smaller diameter and that's what causes the rubbing, not the width

Yeah I have to admit the 285/40's would be PERFECT! But no way I can afford them at this stage... maybe later down the track though (long term plan).

Anyway, cheers guys, you've convinced me to keep the 10's.

Tiny, tubs huh mate! SWEET! You're an ideas man :)

The 8.5's are going on Ebay, problem solved.

Cheers.

Just for interests sake...

Took the car on a club cruise yesterday with some of the boys, and we all hit the weighbridge.

With approximately 30-40 litres of fuel on-board, she came in at 1380kg.

Afterwards, tried to help out a fellow Torana owner, haha.... bloody Torana batteries!!
