Its ok though, I thought it would just sweep up (drive was very wet when I painted it)
some did, the rest didnt, I got some degreaser and a spray bottle of wax and grease onto a corner on monday arvo and it came off with a scrub (that bit of the drive needs pressure washing anyway)

Genuine Smiths gauges are worth good coin on ebay. You might be surprised what you can buy with the proceeds if you have 4 or 5 of them, depending on what they are.
Good genuine mirror heads(the ones without the thick black bit around the glass) sell pretty well too.
You might just scratch enough together for a HZ GTS one if you have the time to sell some stuff.
We have 2 genuin ones here.. i threw em up on ebay and didnt even get a look :( lol

looks unreal!
Finished off most of the dash issues now
still need to cut and patch this mess though-
stereo is now in here-
need to make a cover for it too, so nothing smashes it around.
any idea whats meant to be here??
It just looks blank and boring, like something is meant to go there

I keep seeing these on the road and thinking to myself... hmmmmm that'd make a good daily!
But then Maddy reminds me of my old HQ.... Better keep them as a memory than try and re-live it again! HAHA!

Heater vent, I think perhaps lower-spec models may not have had it. Normally the two centre ones (passenger in crash pad, driver in dash) are heater operated, two outside ones are vent only unless you have air conany idea whats meant to be here??

You dont have to go far to work though do you?
Pick up a cheap one, throw something modern in the engine bay and a new interior.

From memory Chris i think mine had air vents fitted in those blank spaces..

hmmmmmm, that might be worth investigating.
Im planning to fit aircon to it eventually, so might look into cutting that out and fitting a vent.
Cheers guys!

It should just be a glued-on cover, if you're really gentle you may be able to get it to come off nicely. Whether air con or not that one is normally hooked up to the heater, its the outside ones that aren't. Getting the drive side A/C duct in behind the instruments is a fun job!Im planning to fit aircon to it eventually, so might look into cutting that out and fitting a vent.

Speaking of that! answer your bloody emails! I sent you one about the VT thing weeks ago and you never wrote back about anything! hahaha.
H series would go great in your lineup hey! you have the VT now as a modern, comfy car to go places, and a HX or similar ute would be great for towing the torries around etc, aswell as being a cool cruiser when you dont want to get the torry out. plus, you need something to put Rocky in!

So for what I paid its an awesome deal.

then Im honestly not too sure, I probably have enough parts to build it into a whole car, but to convince Karlie that it was a good idea, I had to promise it wouldnt be a project.....
So at this stage it looks like a strip + sell, or if I cant shell the chassis, then I'll be scrapping the chassis and whatevers left of the body. It sucks to do it, but Ive been given a month with it at our joint before the wrath of the gods ensues! hahaha.
that and I got the "it better not set my ute back any more" lol. Its fair though, she did sell her corolla to buy the ute, and has been carless for 12 months now! haha
