I know what you mean, I still have two spare sets somewhere, haven't even managed to find a good use for them as scrap steel yet and I cut most things up...Still have tehe inner gaurds (dont seem too popular)
Only time I ever sell parts is when I want money to buy other parts, good work

But the HQ-WB stuff isnt really my thing, so im keeping things that I figure might be useful on the ute in the future and selling everything else off.
Ive got two sets of inner gaurds now! both in the same condition (blasted, primed, no rust)
So hopefully I can get rid of them, they dont even make good seats in the shed! haha

New screen!
Looks great!
I didnt realise I needed to have the trim clip things though, so Marshy (windscreen bloke) said I can put them on later (very carefully)
So bying them tomorrow night and then I'll polish up and fit all the trim.
Rear screen couldnt go in though as the rubber didnt cover the "overhang" from the hoodlining (see photo)
So I need to trim it back to about 5mm and we will try again (marshy is coming back out next wednesday to do it)
I also bought some "door rubber fitting kits" about a month ago and thought Id stand out in the rain and fit them last night.
This was the finished product-
Now for my whinge-
What the frOck is with Rare spares! HONESTLY!
Common sense tells you that a "door rubber fitting kit" would have enough little clips for A WHOLE DOOR RUBBER!
I bought two kits, and there was only enough clips for 1.5 door rubbers. Luckily enough I had some spares buried in the cupboard so I could still do both rubbers.
Then I tried to fit these frOcking things-
WHAT A frOckING JOKE!
they dont have any "locking" device or lip on them that keeps them in, I jammed a few into their holes with a screw driver and a twisting action, but some just fall out on their own straight away (and that was pressing so hard the door was going to bend)
Has anyone else had to fit these things? Im planning to just superglue to frOckers in now as I cant see any other way to make them stay put.

Its only like 5 holes between the two doors, not in the same spots or anything either, so probably havent been drilled out.
They just dont want to stay put!
I think it would be a great idea to have a slight thread on them so they just screw in, rather then pushing in, would solve the whole problem and make them easier to install/remove

Also just bought these-
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120571494683&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
To throw on the back, Ive got some 185 to throw on the front, so its going to rock a slightly stretched front tyre and a bit of bulge on the rear.

Apart from that you must be happy with how the utes coming up.

The plastic clips for the rubbers dont worry me, Ive got em on my LJ and never had a drama.
They seem to fit the little black "cups" pretty snug too. The "cups" just wont stay in the fukcing door!
I might get a chance to bolt the front in this weekend. And then I might sneak some late night laps to make sure its all good. Need to put some more petrol in it first

Hey there's a flared LJ a bit further back in this thread. I'm sure there's a pic of the same car with a dude standing next to it in the 'people like us' column in Street Machine. That looks awesome!
Pretty awesome Birthday present i reckon!

I meant someone may have drilled the original ones out like you do with rivets because they were too tight to pull out. If you're really dexterous and inventive you may be able to get something to screw onto them inside the door?not in the same spots or anything either, so probably havent been drilled out.

I think a drop of superglue would probably be easier though. They wont be coming out until next time I want to paint it (probably 3 or 4 years) so it should be fine (I hope)
cheers for that though

Going to go home today and get most of the front bolted in tightly,
Maybe even a video of the theoretical run in the morning! Will just need to tape the bonnet down as there isnt a latch!
ohhh and one question for anyone who reads this and knows their H- Models,
Ive got my windscreen moulds all polished up and ready to go on, but does one go on before the others? like is there an order to do them in?
Im a bit pissed as I can only find one drip rail chrome strip in my piles, Im not sure if there were two and one is in the shed still or not (I never really payed much attention!)
So looks like Im going looking today!

rubbed and painted the column parts on the weekend, the column shift section and the ignition barrel section came up great, the bloody plastic bit bloomed though (was a bit cold in the shed)
So I need to give it a cut back and a respray in the next few days.
Started getting all my shit organised for the swap meet next weekend.
Gave Gary a massive box of stuff to sandblast for me, got some back last night, it looks grouse!

(I cant find the photo of both, but Ive been using that one to play forza in! haha)
We will get it regoed with the bench seat, and eventually swap in the buckets when I get around to it!
They need a good clean, but Karlie is well versed in that now after I had her blow dry my commodores new interior the other week!

Sold the wagon on the weekend (before I even made it to the swap meet)
Body and interior to a panel beater mate for $350. Saved me dragging it to the swap.
sold about $400 in parts too, so rego money is all sorted.
Just need to find the time to paint the tailgate and we are set!

plus a new jack (old one shat its guts all over the drive, was only a couple years old too!)
new cordless drill, another set of jackstands, pick and scraper set etc.
so should be alot easier to work around the joint, Ive always had tonnes of tools, just shitty quality and seem to go walkabout all the time.
Im planning to set up my bench properly with these so nothing goes missing and everything has a place.
