No deal :(

I couldnt find my seatbelt stalks!

hahaha.

Im picking up a few non essentials from the painter today (tailgate, windscreen cowl etc)

so it will be 100% for rego.

Ive told my mate I'll be down at the end of the week for the bluey now.

Then come the skid pics!

We did manage to get the purple thing all set up last night (same bloke that was doing my bluey)

Im pissed off now!

I couldnt find my seatbelt stalks or the lap sash.... figured out they were never with the car!

So im retrofitting some VR and VT commodore rear retractables instead.

Just another PITA though!

Need to sort this wagon bar thing out too, Im just wondering if there is an easier way then how im going to do it?

anyone else done it and care to share?

When I did the wagon bar on my old HQ pano I just mounted it to the lower part of the tailgate hinges. One bolt each side. I just had to drill a new hole through the bumper and mount and that was it. Easy as. I'll try and find a pic of how it looked. I couldn't think of an easier way at the time.

I did the same on my HQ pano, i used a HJ rear bar with the rubber strips & where i drilled the holes to mount the bar through the rubber strip i covered the bolt head with some black plastic plugs.

Yeah thats basically what I was looking at doing last night, is 2 bolts enough though? does it need any side stabilisation?

I was just going to drill some extra holes and modify the far corner bumperette brackets and fit them aswell.

Off to the wreckers today to see if there are any HQ-WB engine lifting straps! bahahah,

All i need is the stalks and the middle seatbelt, commodore stalks arent long enough to come trhough the seat and still be useable.

The front is now 100% and the rear is just missing the bumper.

Still sorting out seatbelts. hopefully can get tht done.

Same as the torana though, life has gotten in the way, Ive had a busy week or two, so fingers crossed things calm down and I can get this thing done.

Yep, W55/56/57/58/59 - I'm guessing you have the steel case type box in the LJ

All the little details are starting to come together, makes a big difference to the overall finish, looking good

Yeah im running a steel case celica 5 speed in the LJ, are there any noticeable differences between the differnt supra boxes?

I know there is a thread somewhere, but the whacked out search function makes it fun trying to find them.

Cheers for the help mate.

The turbo version is the R154, and unfortunately your box isn't one. The turbo box has the drain plug on the drivers side and different ribs from memory to whats on yours. Still, the w series is goof for round 300-350hp

That what I wanted to know! haha,

If it had been anything special it would have been out of the car and on ebay! haha.

I just found out that the "spear" on the bonnet is worth a silly amount too! I was going to bin it originally, but Karlie liked it!

Ive had Rays ute since, so its kinda killed my motivation by having a car! lol.

But im kicking along, the torry has been taking up more time lately, only a month and a half until toranafest!

Things are on the go again as of this weekend!

Many thanks to Craig (WOT179) who kindly donated a set of seatbelts to the cause. Arrived in the post today, and are exactly what I needed!

So thanks to Craig!

thanks to Greg from Classic Oz wreck who also dug out a set for me, unfortunately Craigs price was better so dont need them now.

Anyway, bars on the weekend, then seatbelts, bench seat and holy shit! its done!

well one thing after another at the moment,

Wiper motor is rooted, same with the master cylinder,

New MC on its way $100 brand new, so cant complain too much!

Im off to the wreckers tomorrow to snare a wiper motor.

Apart from that, things have been good-

Rear bar is finally on! fitted as snug as I could.

Im going to make some corner brackets to fix this issue though-

looks fine, but im being picky thoug and it needs the bottom pulled up level.

I gave the filter housing a good clean up and a paint, Im on the lookout for a cheap set of rocker covers (chrome ones) too.

also bought these at cessnock swap meet

(yes... they are my ducky pajama pants... :D )

They are low beam halogen headlights :) so I can fit new bulbs to them, wire in a relay and have some nice bright headlights (instead of the old candle powered sealed beams)

they were only $15 each too.

Nope, I have NFI what thats from? maybe earlier model? or later?

My HX one looks like a torry one (just a bit chunkier) it has the 3 small bolts to hold it to the firewall in a triangle sort of formation.
