New master- $100 (well free, I had $100 to spend at bursons for my birthday from my brother... who works there! lol) retail is like $200 I think.
Wiper motor- $30
So if I get time on the weekend-
going to bench bleed the master and fit it up, bleed all the brakes etc.
need to paint two doortrims up too (black vinyl dye)
And then its off to the bluey joint!
and just because it used to be in my torana thread (that I dummy spat and deleted years ago), and I think it deserves a place somewhere (because I just found it again in my PB account)
This is elsie (LC) our cat-

I have to wait for Karlie to get home tonight with the rego papers and plates though! (she works in the city, so wont be home until like 7.30!)
Driving it the 15 minutes to my mates shop was grouse! everyone kept looking to see what was making the rumbling noise! haha.
The exhaust sounds great! it just doesnt go as fast as it sounds!

Interior sans dog-
GTS dash, black vinyl dyed door trims, no arm rests, bench seat, grey velour headlining, head unit in the glove box, single 6" speaker just chilling on the trans tunnel (4" speakers to go in kick panels eventually... when I make some!)
no carpet for the minute, will go in once I fix some leaking issues. The car mats were ones I got for free (wouldnt use something with FUSION written accross it otherwise!) and keep my feet from getting too warm when the floor heats up form the exhaust!
225/65/14 nankang sonar rear tyres, $60 ebay specials.
175/60/14 fronts, were off Karlie first corolla (brand spankers still) I took them off it when we sold it.
They are a bit stretched, but fine for the minute.
The carport finally gave up so got pulled down (18 months in the weather, so lasted pretty well I reckon!)
final wash on the morning before the blue slip-
bluey-
as you can see by this picture, Karlie and the dog helped ALOT during the building process......
NOT!
Second maiden voyage (I did the first just me and the dog, Karlie was out wedding dress shopping with her sister!)
and final pictures for the minute,
Dinner on the waterfront at Gosford
and how I spent the other half of my saturday-
VT needed some TLC! lol.
All up we drove about 150km in the ute on the weekend, a few little issues-
Needs a wheel alignment
Needs bigger front tyres
Need to rebuild the carby (heaps doughy, well more than a 253 should be!)
Need to put a clutch in it (not a drama for me, but karlie can only just drive it as the pedal has to be on the floor)
Need to pull and paint some bits of the dash that I installed in a rush.
Need to adjust the headlights (might fit my H$ holders while Im at it)
needs an alarm and central locking! lol
but im over the moon, drove it to work today!

needs to be lower too, dog is going to struggle getting in and out in the future.
Ive got a dirty idea of throwing airbags in the bum (so I can still tow with the thing)
First I need to get enough grunt into the thing to tow anything.
after christmas its 5 litre time to get us by until I can get enough cash together (12 months minimum) to go LS1 (engineering, etc)
Im thinking (after backwards forwards emails with MRLXSS to bounce ideas around! haha.. ohh and approval from Karlie)
early pre-pol if possible 308 block (aussie pattern)
VN-VS V8 donor car (can be smashed or blown motor)
Im going to take the top end from the donor onto the spare block, then use all the aircon and Power steering stuff from the donor and adapt it to the ute.
So thats the current plan of attack, seems I can get a donor car for 1000-1500 pretty easily (less if crashed)
If anyone knows of one cheap, let me know!
will prob consider down south or up north too if need be

and yeah, thats where the wheel nut ended up
Thanks for that!
Ive discovered one thing about the ute, (well apart from mechanical issues) everytime I bring it to work (like today) it is guaranteed to rain simply because the ute leaks. i should go park it at the dam!
A few little issues-
Clutch is on the way out
Has a squeak in the front left (PS) when backing off the throttle and braking/bouncing the car around. need to have a good look at that
Ive almost finished rebuilding a new WW for it, so should see a bit more response from the thing (current carby is ratshit)

The carb on the 202 in my ute was absolutely awful, getting it to go was a real exercise. Its not worth spending time on as its not a project vehicle (yet!) so I found a four barrel manifold and stuck on old Quadrajet on it - way overkill but it runs beautifully!!Ive almost finished rebuilding a new WW for it, so should see a bit more response from the thing (current carby is ratshit)

So it was easier to just build up a new one with new jets and go from there.
Quaddy would probably flood the poor little 253! lol.
I think the noise in the front is the PS spring, I put a ball joint in that side a while back, and it sits a bit higher than the drivers, so im guessing its just not seated properly.

Plus, like I said, Id have to find and buy a manifold (actually Ive got an L34 manifold in the shed) and buy a carbie.
This is costing me like $10
