Anyways went to the trimmers today because they wanted me to check over things to make sure i liked it. They also said the trim should be finished by mid feb but i will already be away by then. thats no big deal thats why i have a girlfriend that can run around for the car while im gone. (yes she is a keeper for sure). While i was there some show cars for motorvation were getting the trim cleaned and detailed and holy damn there are going to be some very nice cars there this year. My pick already for top trim is a olive colour camaro its insane i will post some pictures once it has been unvieled.
Anyways some progress pics.
The console still not finished but u get the idea
A custom kick panel to hide the MSD 6AL Igntion Box
The boot install is coming nicely. they are doing a top job and is exactly how i wanted it. Should look nice in white trim.
Just a random pic of the diff and stuff under the bum.
Anyways i hope u guys like it. All comments welcome the more the better aswell
cheers ayden

Does anyone know what are his chances of getting it engineered over here in W.A he spoke to an engineer i think in Willetton who says it is possible i dont know how true that is though. LS2HATCH may be able to shed some light on it. It was licensed in vic with the 307 if that changes anything????
You may be able to licence a 307 LJ in WA if the 307 was engineered and licenced in VIC. LJ383 was given similar advice by the WA Technical Section regarding his SBC powered LJ. I get the impression that WA Technical Section will consider registering a car that does not comply with the NCOP if the car was engineered and registered in another state. The car presented for registration has to be as specified in the engineering report.
I think you should rethink the routing of the flexible brake hose. It looks like it would be relatively easy for it to snag on something and be ripped out. Maybe attach the hose to the diff from the top instead of the bottom or use a 90 degree fitting at the diff.

Floating disc brakes require a rubber line to the caliper, even on solid axle diff. They do look like they could be moved a bit further out of harm's way though.

Does that make sense? I really am bad at explaining things.
In the photo, you can see the top mounting bolt with the rubber seal on it. That's one of the "rods" the caliper (red bit in photo) slides on when the brakes are used.

thanks for the nice comments. can someone please explain the whole floating disc brake? how is it different to normal rear discs? sorry if thats a stupid question
cheers ayden
Just remember that there are floating discs AND floating calipers. Although technically they are sliding calipers.
Floating discs are discs that have a separate hub and they are loosely connected to the hub by 'pins'. These pins are loose and allow the caliper to move around slightly, hence the floating. This stops the discs transferring heat to the hub and stops them warping under extreme use. Usually found on motorbikes, rather than cars though.

I would have extended the centre console all the way through the rear and just run 2 rear buckets.
