I don't see anything wrong with those pics
But lets see how long they stay before the feminazis and fun police see them :)

Those takata seat belts are actually pretty good!! Very comfortable to wear! :D

I rember when i was going to car shows as a kid, my old man always used to go off at me even if i dared to touch a single bolt on the inside of the engine bay!

This is going to be a touchy one, but ohh well.

People in wheelchairs!

At toranafest, 2 years in a row, the same freaking bloke in a wheelchair with his 3 sticky handed kids in tow, was pushing down between all the cars.

I understand he has a disability and that he cant exactly get out of the chair and walk down, but in some cases it was way too close for comfort.

The first year I saw him there, he comes to my car and decides to see how well my doors close..... so he starts slamming and opening the rear passengers side door, I saw him do it, and got up to say something but somehow the words got stuck in my mouth as to "how do I abuse a bloke in a wheel chair"?

Last years toranafest, my old man had to tell a father off that let his son drag his fingers accross the front of our mates xu1 his xu1 and my uncles GTR. The dad told him not to, then he did it again, then the dad said "please dont do it" then the kid did it again and kept going along the line of cars with the father sweetly asking him to stop, but did he stop him? NO!

I felt bad last weekend at WSID though, I was there with some friends for a bucks day, and we were looking at the suspension setups on the LH/LX drag cars as the bloke whos bucks day it was, is building up an LH/350 combo at the moment.

I stuck my head under the bum of one of the cars without really thinking and had a geez at the suspension, when I rolled over and went to getup, I had a big greek bloke standing there looking at me.... I instantly thought "shit, should have asked first" but there wasnt anyone around to ask.

He just asked me "if I had a good look" and then had a laugh so it was ok, but yeah, I shat myself even though I didnt touch anything!

^^ You got to be careful with some of those super competitive drag racers, they don't tell or share any info what so ever! ^^

My mate who is building up the a blown alcohol car, was trying to get a picture of the rocker ratios they had written down on a piece of paper in the pit area... He tried to get me to pose it front of them for a picture, and discretly try and zoom in and get a pic of the paper... It was so obvious what he was trying to do though, and they came and grabbed the bit of paper lol.

What shits me sometimes though, is when your at a car show, and people think its fine for them to just lean against your car and have a chat! Most of the time they have a drink in their hand as well. Sometimes if you just go up to your car, unlock it and do something around it. They see you and get off your car... What really pisses me off is when they just look at you and continue to lean... GRRRRRR They are normally standing around in a big group as well, and think they are gods gift to the world!

"how do I abuse a bloke in a wheel chair"?

Same as any other tosser, I'm all for equal treatment :spoton:

I'm with a couple of the others above, I don't really mind people touching but its nice to invite them first, dunno why so many people think they are entitled to whatever they want. I don't touch without asking.

They just need to double the kid's dosage. Simple.

yeah this topic really pisses me off too. as others have said it all boils down to lack of respect. if the parents had any they'd pull their kids into line quick smart.
we had the riverina revfest here a few years ago and had a cruise up the main st. i had the gtr parked and was across the road. this bloke came up and sat his arse on the boot. i ran over and asked him to get off. he slowly looked at me then the car as he got off and commented on how nice the paint was. i told him that id like to keep it nice by not having dents and scratches from people sitting on it. he just didnt seem to give a shit or apologise...and acted like nothing had happened.
i wouldn't dream of sitting on someones car...even a shitheap! its simple...if its not yours ...dont touch!
but i guess some people have respect...most dont.

so aggro this post and topic, i was like that when young myself, the best cure is old age and realising
its just a car, dents, scrapes and finger prints come off, or can be fixed.
im with rory... my race car was always full of kids for a pic, all my mates drove it about the pits
and i always think of brocks story when he was little and a "big man screamed at him after he looked in his
car" and he swore to never do that when he had his own cars.
i know its upsetting but then its better to show your car than locking it up,
always laughed at people when i drag raced, they would cry if anyone looked at their car, put ropes around
it and polish it to death, but then go out and rev the ring out of it and put rubber all over the back on the paint??
i always thought half the fun was cleaning the car anyway?
but do agree there is not a lot or respect out there in any form for our property.

i just had a very early memory when i went out after a smash up derby and i went straight to a holden panel van that came second. it was bright orange and was hammered but still looked tough cos it stood up so well. i went over and piced a bit of paint off that was hangin off the side and the driver who was nearby slapped my hand and yelled at me dont touch his car. i was freakin terrified. dad nearly jobbed him but i remember thinking i knew not to touch the shiny ones but this was a freakin smash car. sometimes it goes too far.

cut the little kids fingers off or connect a truck battery to your car so when they touch they get zapped :)

My grandpa always said: "Look with your eyes, not your fingers"

I remember my dad nearly crushing my wrist at a car show when I was reaching over to point out something to him. Wasn't going to touch but I learned real quick don't go NEAR any car at a show or anywhere. Being a kid it upset me and later on he stuck his finger in an icecream I had and said: "You see? Even if it's not worth much you still shouldn't touch what's not yours" Being cruel to be kind...

During a camping trip with mates- I was returning to my car after grabbing some things at a deli. While I was walking back to my car (Kingswood with VERY s#!t paint) a woman got out of her Ford EA and put her HUGE handbag on my bonnet and started sorting through it. I wasn't in a frame of mind to take that and when I said "Why don't you put that suitcase on your own piece of s#!t?" she looked up, didn't say a thing, just kept searching for whatever she was looking for and glancing around at my paintwork like it was a park bench or something. *Asshole mode switched on* I opened my boot and very gently put an old 202 head on the boot of her car (kept it only for the rockers), stood between our cars, grabbed a spanner and started to do nothing in particular. Bloody hell! Did she say something then or what! When I suggested to her that if she thinks my car is so s#!t and I shouldn't worry when she dents it with that huge bag, it's still called 'No respect for other peoples property' her reply was "What do you care, your car is junk?" I politely replied "I feel the same about yours." She then came marching at me deliberately dragging her bag as hard as she could all along the side of my car screaming she was going to call the cops blah blah blah. When I pointed to where the bag was scratching my car she just looked and kept walking and yelling. I put up my open hand like 'stop' and I dragged that head across her boot while leaning on it as hard as I could! She started swearing her head off! I always carry a pen, so grabbed a piece of cardboard out of my boot and wrote down my rego and my insurance company details. I handed it to her and as she snatched it, I said: "I hope to hear from you soon". Oh boy! The swearing continued as I started my car, reversed, and drove off. I could see her in the mirror still yelling and waving that piece of cardboard. Never heard a thing about it after that.

I felt SOOOOO bad, and would NEVER do something like that again, but couldn't help myself from laughing my ass off!

A mate of mine has a device which 'ticks' every few seconds and is a type of low power electric fence to keep the dog out the garden- maybe that over the ropes around a car at shows would be useful.

Its fairly simple..

If your a car enthusiast, you'll respect cars and wouldn't dare touch one unless you asked first.

I dont even ask my mates to drive their nice cars or even touch them without knowing, because I know I wouldn't want my mates touching my car without me knowing, its general respect but unfortunately car shows attract some 'undesirables' who want to fuk with your car for the sake of it.

Doesn't matter what condition the car is in to me.

Someone putting stuff on the bonnet of my heap of shit commodore is gonna get the same reaction from me as if it was my torana.

Bottom line is it's not there property, so they can keep their hands off it.

We had a good one...

At a car show, the car had "for sale" signs on it. And yes we had left the doors unlocked. That was because there were plenty of our car club members right there.

Some bozo decided to open the car door and proceed to climb into the car!

One of the other members grabs the guy and asks what he's doing. The guys says 'It's for sale, so I'm having a look'.

As it was politely told to him the phone number is on the car - ring it if you want to look - don't just open and climb in.

He was a bit miffed..... moron.

As for kids touching cars - with sticky ice-creamy fingers... The Dad apologises profusely and made sure he stayed out of my way. It wasn't MY car the kids touched, but I acted like it was.
