I have put all the new brake lines onto the FJ... I am now wondering how do I get the brake fluid through.. do we just keep pumping the brake pedal until it starts to come out.. Help   Wayne

Is the master still under the floor >?

FJ is a pig to bleed cause the fluid has to go in odd places to get to the wheels

Have you adjusted everything first ?

there is a few different ways this can be sorted,

try strating the car and pumping the pedel

try using brake bleeder bottles so you can open all the bleeder nipples at the same time and then start pumping the pedel

try pushing some brake fluid with a syringe into the brake line from either end then conect em back up and start the pumping again ( warning: this is the messy way but has been known to work )

hope this might help :spoton:

Overstroking a single line master cylinder will cause it to cut the primary cup and start leaking out the back
So no mad pumping
And starting the car will have no effect on a FJ master as its unboosted

Unless the cars been modified and has a non original master and or remote booster fitted

More details required please

Would a vacuum bleeder work?
Connect it to the bleeder, plug in the air line, crack the nipple, watch and wait???
Don't know the system on an FJ but from what I've seen of these vacuum jobs, they're magic.

I am a big fan of the vacuum bleeder, particularly when everything is new.

those vacuum bleeders are excellent , put it on the end , crack the nipple and let it suck the fluid through.

Anyway i bled the master first on its own, then installed it . Then did each line starting from the furthest caliper first (ie rear left) . Using the normal push pedal and crack nipple and then close nipple before pedal hitting the floor. repeat repeat repeat . My misses reckons her leg was sore but i didnt feel a thing

The Earls Ezi-bleed brake nipples make this an easier process, just back the off a few turns and a spring keeps the exit sealed until pressure is applied. Makes it a one person brake bleed.

So VN master too ?
Under floor or in engine bay ?
You'll never get a perfect pedal first up anyway cause the pads have a certain amount of compression and need to bed in

But I think theres more to the story

Pics of everything ?

Make sure there is clearance and the master isn't proloaded and holding the piston down
The master if second hand could be rooted
You could try reverse bleeding
Shame its got those aweful braided hoses on it
You could be clamping lines and finding the actual problem area

More bleeding required, check you don't have any small leaks or weeps (can be hard to spot)
