I agree with xu1972 and The Baron. The amount of absolute quality Toranas was outstanding, and I was very happy to be part of it despite the heat. Well done to the very proud Torana owners! A huge well done to the organisers, Tony and the crew. Have some great pics too but will wait for the organisers to post up first. It was also nice to put some faces to some of the members names such as The Baron, exyou1, and phantom10 to name a few.

Sorry about the burst eardrums people.... I really didn't mean to scream like I did!! Couldn't believe the little LC 4 door took out runner up best original LC!! And well done to everyone that was there, amazing turnout for the first one. Can't wait for the next one.

Congrats to HTC for putting on such a good show the first time around. On the day, my admiration and congrats to the judges for judging a lot of cars in a pretty severe environment, and also big thumbs up to all the interstate entrants - :spoton: thanks very much for supporting a first event

I missed out on what looked like an excellent day, I Was stuck home with a paintbrush in my hand!

what sort of turn out in numbers of cars were there, Do you think it was sucsessful enough to hold next year, Id have my hatch out for sure.

Great pics by the way, I didnt think there were that many nice torana's left But obviously they are hidden away well.

Well what can i say to everyone that helped on the event i can not thank you people enough!!! it was an awsome day enjoyed by all!! the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to get an event like this off the ground can not really be appreciated unless your part of the planning!!! (thats with no disrespect to anyone)

anthony, joe, emm, you guys rock!!! i came to you with this idea early in the year and you have bent over backwards to make it happen!!! to all the people that helped on the day thank you very much!! 39 degrees with most people working all day on the bbq and the girls making hamburgers ect,ect and not once did i hear any wingeing!!!

phil who towed the cool room and all the other stuff your a legend mate!!! so if the only critisism is we could have had more room between the cars we will take that on board for next time!!! and as soss said i think s.a had been hanging out for an event like this i cant wait for the next one!!!

hi bubba smuff (aka greenmachine)

By the flow of paying people thru the gate ( there was even a line up to get in ) and how smoothly it went there will be many more to come.

Huge accolades to the new committee and all the helpers, this is how I hoped HTC would progress.

lX HATCH 76 'Kaz,your a scream dear..'
and even at an alcohol free event, this must prove I am a nutter.

p.s. Mutha Nature you tried to bake us, but we survived. Holden, Torries and the great Aussie heat were made for each other.

Except when they sit idleing too long. :Headbang2:

Top Show guys.... Excellent turnout!

I also noticed 6 Toranas parked in surrounding streets at 10:30.

I can think of at least 10 high profile, tough Toranas that weren't there or I missed.... Cars like, Top Gun the blown HB (or his black SBC GTR), Smokem (the blown LH), Killa, SLR-400... and that awesome 9 sec purple 350 LH sedan that gets around Virginia, ....

I'm sure it will be bigger and better next year...
Let's make it compulsory... If you've got a Torana you've got to be there!

Great show, despite the way-too-hot weather. Good to catch up with a couple, unfortunately I didn't hang around long enough to meet anyone else. Jetty jumping at Glenelg beckoned. Congrats to everyone that won an award, you did pretty well amongst some pretty tough company.

An awesome display of some of the states (and, as Heath mentioned, a couple of interstate cars) toughest, straightest, modified, original, and driven Torries, and I'm sure next year will be even better (there'll be at least one Purr Pull car there next year :D)

Well done to DJ, Tony and everyone else that manned the gate, drinks and BBQ, judged, etc etc.

The heat kept me under my shade cover nearly all day, so I didn't get to catch up with all of youz. But on a good note no sunburn, and I am well known for frying myself. DOH !

Maybe some tips to take on for next year:

# run a swap meet in conjunction with the show.

# have an area set aside for those who wish to have an official pic taken upon entry, with time to wipe the bug guts off. No queing next year please.

# set up the music away from entry gate so the poor buggars behind the desk dont loose their voice. With wind drift most of the time we didnt hear the talking well from the far side.

# more bins around, Kesab do the cardboard ones which may be ideal.

# Maybe put a row of cars in a horseshoe shape around oval perimeter, then stagger the rest in the middle. ( leaving room for shade tents on the perimeter, that was perfect)

# Set up a roster for helpers (you may have done that ? ? ) so the same guys who helped this year dont get lumbered with it every year and get a chance to chill out a bit during the day. Send a copy of this roster to all members with the entry forms for 2010.

I am sorry I didn't make the meeting last night, too busy and my bloody dogs got to my guinea pigs.

Please do not take on any of my suggestions a critisism as you guys did an exceptional job for the first show.

A swap meet isn't a bad idea, but there was A LOT of work that went into the day alone. Yes there may have been room but then we would have needed more people to organize it (we can't rely on Daz, Tony and Jo for everything) and more volunteers. At this early stage I just don't think it would be possible. Maybe in a few years. Let's not make this too big, it's only the first one!!

Have a beer or 2 those who made the day possible, you deserve it. I along with everyone else who has posted in the last few days had a great day. Well worth flying in for the event. All the cars looked great, a huge array of Torana's. Again.... well done, TOP effort.
Cheers, Craig
