I did 11 runs, the best of which being a 17.18 @ 80.36 MPH, that was about 15min before the track was closed.
I beat a Gemini, and DJ talked me into doing several smokey 2nd gear burnouts which were a bit of fun!

The decision not to go was made at 3.30am this morning.

Headlights turn themselves off, when they are on they are worse than candles. Windscreen wipers fall off after few minutes of work, I think a uni wore out, and i was getting crazy vibrations above like 2800 in 3rd....
Thats not to mention the fact my starter or battery is #@$^%& and if i turn the motor off it wouldnt start again.
My Car is off the road and ill basically do a RWC on it to make it safe to drive again.
My trip home took like 4 hours!
I ran 14.57 today @ 97MPH
My Car has done about 5-600km over the weekend, more than its done for the last 18months!

About 5 mins after leaving the track, my tow car ($500 VS Wagon) made a loud hissing noise, then a loud grinding noise then started to smell of diff oil.
Turns out the LHR wheel bearing seal had let go.
I drove real slow for a while and gradually got up to 80 km/h, the bad noises came and went but mostly it was ok. With about 30 km's to go I felt it tighten up, but then it came good again. Didn't get home till about 9.30 though.

Did anyone take a photo of that Mazda 121 bubble? What a sleeper! I laughed when I saw it and then I raced next to it and it beat me. How humiliating!

Was wanting better but first time out in this car so not too bad a starting point. 4sp manual just makes it SO much harder and the old muncie isn't the easyest thing to shift in a hurry at revs!!!! yet still heaps of fun. Maybe i need a 2 step to get consistent revs at launch as i think i was all over the shop Lol
Good to catch up and meet some new faces

A few cars (and bikes) doing 10's
Heath had a little incentive to go faster at the end of the day, LOL, which seemed to work quite well.
People's shoulda let Bomber ride shotgun on the strip,... he came all the way from QLD !
mr5000 thought I was the toecutter at one stage on the way home until he realised who I was.
Got drenched riding home at night following some orange thing with candle lit taillights (I had no visibility in that blizzard)
Matt, your car is simply being temperamental, she's only doing that coz you keep denying her a 308, haha
Anyway, you know you had a good day at the drags when you're still pickin black stuff outa your nose when you get home.
Cheers.

Good turn out of torries and good to meet some members.
My best for the day was a 14.59 @ 96mph
Not bad for a 202 with a 5speed and 9inch
Had a total of 5 runs. She held up very well!
Gotta love 2nd gear burnouts!

Looks like we had a heap of people around the 14.5 mark! LOL!! Why didn't i get to line anyone up! I kept getting 11 second cars or 20 second cars!!
Got one race against micklx, was a great tight race, until i hit 3rd and got fuel starvation of some form (vapour lock or just not enough pumping)
I had to keep my motor running the whole time in the staging lanes, because if i shut it off it wouldnt start until it cooled right off again! So my engine bay temps were too high for my liking!
Looking forward to seeing some pics! There were a heap of new torries i'd never seen before up there!
