Funny thing my magical Torana seemed to have fixed itself today. I drove it to the carwash before work this arvo and it drove beautifully. Perhaps I could put the 'lateral movement in the rear' down to the wet road and lack of traction on the way home yesterday. The pulling to one side under brakes must have been just some crap in one of the rear brake drums.

There's some grouse photos that people have put up. Here are a couple more photos, though these ones lack real action and there is a fair bit of stuff like VLs and AU Falcons obscuring the Toranas.

Hey Dougal, its a shame you couldn't make it up. How are you feeling since your op?

Thanks Mick, I'm feeling pretty good now mate. The surgeon said the op was a success so hopefully it should all be sorted now.
Mum is getting the shits a bit lol because I'm starting to get back to normal stuff while I should be resting (I started rubbing back the bootlid yesterday).

We also got a visit from the cops last night at Rovers lol because we needed to "warm up" then LJ before washing it, I spent a good 20mins chucking skids behind the Scout hall. Good times :P

ha ha good stuff! Yeah I bet you're itchin to get some stuff done on the car Doogs. Its a pain sitting on your arse when you've been told to rest. If its ready before the drag day next year you should bring it.

Yeah for sure. I would reckon it will be done by then and also be running a new engine.
Plan is still to have it painted before I go back to uni next semester.
With any luck Fergus will have an LX/H by next drag day also with some engine mods.

Thanks to all for a good day. Hopefully next year it won't be as busy as what it was as my car was almost overheating by the time I got to the start line.

My best run was a 16.07 @ 90.6 MPH. My best MPH was 92.54. I had 7 runs and screwed the start on all of them! Hopefully I'll be better next year and pull some good times. (or get a good driver to get one for me :spoton:)

Cheers

I was pretty happy with the Pulsar. With 30psi in the front tyres and a smallish burnout at the start I had four very consistant runs. 16.04@102MPH, 15.95@102MPH, 16.10@91MPH & 16.09@89MPH The first two in the right lanes the MPH can't be right. I don't reckon it will go any faster.

Its taken me a few days to get around to it but here are a few of my own pictures.

A few Toranas, a Commodore, a Statesman and a Pulsar at Chirny

A poor quality video of a top quality race!

This is the run MRLXSS mentioned in his post earlier.

Yeah the right lane is always 2 or 3 mph faster than the left lane
it's the dip near the end of the track

lurkin308 - it was running a black 202, with 12 port head and triple webers. Had a pretty awesome rear end setup too.
Looked to be a pretty new drag car

73LJWhiteSL - cool pics Steve

Here is a video of Me and Heath racing.
Unfortunately you can't quite see me giving Heath the bird at the start or the thumb on the nose fingers waving thing he responded with....
All in good humour of course !!!!!!

Thanks,
Its a fairly basic exhaust, where the two pipes join it goes into a 3" section and then the muffler. The muffler was built by a guy who builds a lot of the Commodore Cup mufflers - he knows his stuff. Its a long oval thing pretty much straight through, I think its just the outer shell with a piece of perforated steel through the centre. Kind of like a hot dog but with larger holes and no packing. It exits out the LHS which is good at Heathcote.
