i reckon rodomo the local forum trophy make couldcome up with a few ideas trophy wise i dont mind knocking a few things up just need to find some one with a router
if we did an interforum thing would need a few guys from other side of the fence to help orginise

What other forums are out there, that would be keen on a Rivalry?

Is there are 60-70's era Falcon Website out there? I don't really want to make it just ford... Because it will just turn into a BA XR6 Turbo day...

I'd love to race old XY's and stuff, that would be sweet! Typical Bathurst/70's rivalry!

I thought X-Falcon were mainly XEs and XFs. I don't necessarily mind that but it's not really that appropriate IMO

I agree with mr5000 with the inter forum drag day, if there going to be more than 50 cars why not approach
calder park to see if its cost effective to hire the track instead of going all the way out to heathcote.
I dare say more peoople would attend.

Yeah that's the GT club mate... they hire out DECA by themselves for god's sake! I don't know if they have a drag day, feel free to make some enquiries but remember they are a GT Club, not a Falcon club - lotsa XU-1 owners/240Z owners/Jaguar owners if you know what I mean :tease:

Still lots of nice cars though! haha

As i said earlier, someone else will have to take the reigns of organising... I've done it the last few years, and Tiny organised it the few years b4 that. Maybe our Victorian Moderator/Admin can look after this... *looks around*

So someone else will need to contact Russell at Heathcote, or someone @ Calder to find out about hiring the track. Also start the networking to find a rival forum/club.

I'm happy to help making up a flyer and stuff to help promote us, and also try and maybe get something into a magazine, but that's all I really have the time to do.

I personally think head down the ESC path! Brett why do u say it will be canned early? Surely numbers will help them?

Nah Ed, I think it would probably be alright - I just said that it "may" get canned early - depending on how the committee view it. Some people really like trying to keep club events as club events, and not always open them up to other groups and stuff. In the past that's how they've always been run - a tight-knit group of mates, where everyone knows everyone else, and no strangers.

Like you said though - opening up and branching out will increase numbers - so if they need numbers, it'd be perfect.

The inter-forum method would be great, but would definitely involve a fair bit of work to get it up and running. Someone really needs a mate involved in the other forum to be a point of contact.

Either way - it's always a lot of work. This is why I love being off committee's these days, retirement is a beautiful thing :)

Hey all,

i'm Heath's mate with the XB's little brother, been doing some lurking on here and came across this. He's in the Ford Performance Car Club in addition to the GT club, and my take on it is they might be more keen on a drag day as they have a stronger focus on track events and the like, although they also have a more broad range of cars (including some x-d-e-f and possibly some newer stuff, but probably mostly old cars). On the other hand the only real racing sort of event the GT club does is DECA once a year so maybe they might be keen to do some more, particularly against toranas.

If you're keen let me/heath know some rough details and i'll bust my brothers balls to talk to some people and see if there's some interest from one/both clubs.

Ross

Hey Ross, is the Ford Performance Club the ones that do the Morwell days? I always thought the range of cars down there was pretty cool.

Yeah, them and i think sometimes they invite a couple of other clubs including the Falcon Coupe Club and the XR-XY ZA-ZD Falcon Fairlane Club sometimes.

Maybe it might be easier rather than organising an offical day, just pick a test and tune to go to and try and get some member along? That way its no stress chasing numbers and those who are free and are keen will come.

I think we should combine it with other clubs. It's so impersonal if we just go to a Test & Tune day
