How would a 2.78 diff go in this car? Don't know all too much about diffs and ratios. It's an open banjo 2.78
EDIT: After a bit of research, i would probably be better off going with a 3.55 diff?

I had 2.78 in the LC coupe, with standard motor, was very nice at 100kmh. Do you do a lot of freeway driving?

Not a lot, but as far as i know, 2.78 isn't really quick off the mark, but only freeway driving i'll be doing is coast trips a few times a month in the summers.Hi Josh

yes 3.55 quicker off the mark than 2.78, but higher revs at 100 kmh. 3.36 is a good all round ratio.

you'd be better off with the diff in the car, the UC's have a salsbury, not a banjo, I recon it most likley has a 3.08 and I have one in my uc, it was pretty good. Im now driving to and from brisbane everyday with a 3.45 in my commodore, its a pain in the arse on the highway, but awesome around town

3.9's are good if you NEVER go on the highway.
4500rpm at 100kph gets a bit tiring though, cruising on the highway at 80kph (donk still screaming at that speed) because of the first problem gets even more tiring, but very very good in town

Might just stick with my current dif for now!
Really should be fixing some problems on my car today, just hope i can get more enthused sometime today! *hates being sick in hot weather*

while your heads out get hardened valve seats installed (think thats what there called)
so you don't have to use the valve lube all the time
and it's a cheap easy mod

Hardened valve seats are not required.
Honestly without the valve lube stuff the seats will recede, but it would take a couple of hundred thousand kilometres to actual wear them to a point where it will fail.
Realistically it was just a ploy put out to scare people into buying the lube.
Not worth the effort.

and to ad to above^^^ there would be enough oil getting past rings/valve guides to not need any more valve lube.

Cool cool. I've been extremely lazy with the car lately. Just haven't had any time, 5 days at tafe, and 2 weekend jobs. and my money is disappearing 
. Ah well, plan is to put my old strommy single barrel carby and new exhaust, get a roadworthy, get it regoed. Then i will start the mods. I think it will have a better chance having a registered car and then doing the mods...
Going to find some time to start doing a full service on the old girl to see if i should be expecting anything to fall off my car while driving.
